Great work by the Cyclones, locking up a good young coach like Campbell can’t be easy in Ames.
Other than they had Dan McCarney and got rid of him....
I wonder how they'll feel if this year is the exception and they go back to being what they were.
First time in a long time they have had anyone worth rolling the dice over...think Pollard is smart going all in on this one
question. Are buyout (another team hiring a coach) and payouts (coach getting fired) just the remaining balance on the coaches contract or are they different?
They are set up all sorts of way, but usually they are a % of the remaining contract. I believe Frost is 50% of remaining contract or $3M, which ever is less.
Different...per CBS, Jumbo Fisher's buyout if he is fired by FSU is approx $37.5m, buyout if he leaves on his own approx $7m
I was kind of meh whatever about him until I read an article on some of the things they have overcome this year. Good heavens the kid they moved to linebacker because he was a crappy QB and too good of an athlete to leave off the field has had to take snaps back at QB this year. They've still lost games this year, but there is no question that Campbell has done an admirable job. Alot of their fans are farmers and veterinarian type folks without egos and they're fun to be around.
