I don't speak and can't follow twitter so well, but looks like RuKnighted18 may have precipitated that.
I'm apparently blocked by him on Twitter lol. This Vinnie guy is a POS too but if he was provoked I can't completely fault him.

If anyone over the age of say 20 is arguing with teenagers on the Internet about anything, you got problems...and if anyone over the age of 20 wrote that stupid rant quoted above, I wouldn't be surprised if you're the type of person who starts fights at Little League games.

Statements like those by RUknighted18 do not help and add fuel to the fire. Probably from a dumbass immature kid who is just as bad as the ones from St Joe's. And please let's not try to point the finger at the coach. When Karcher was the head coach there he was fair and objective in dealing with Rutgets etc. Also keep in mind could some other schools hint at the same thing regarding Teel at Bosco. To me this is a parent error and not a coach one. But unfortunately some of our Rutgers bozo fans can't sort this out. Net result....ugly unneeded social media bullsh**.

Even if the SJR HC doesn't like us, he likely wouldn't make that public/ would at least want to appear impartial (just like Campanile at BergenC though I strongly think he's biased against us based on stuff he's done). The RU fans fanning the flames of this on Twitter are just as bad as the fools on the other side. Rutgers is already held to a ridiculous double-standard in this state; this just fuels that 'See?? Rutgers is bad news' crap even more.

...and if anyone affiliated with SJR has a problem with Rutgers, let them first go to the McCourtys, to Ron Girault and Kevin Wilkins and talk their garbage.

Grew up in the Mon Valley back in the fifties. Always loved going to Oakland to Forbes Field to see the Pirates with the knot hole club. MY dad would take me to the Pitt-ND games and those were cherished moments . Back then, the city was dirty and smokey. was there a few weeks ago and the place is beautiful. Very clean, modern look . It's now a corporate center and has transitioned from the old steel town to a modernwPIA metropolis. if a kid chooses Pitt, so be it. Like I said , he's gone and out of our hair. Pitt isn't for everyone, and they have problems recruiting their own backyard. plus, the WPIAL isn't what it used to be, fewer p5 kids to go after and the ones that are seem to go elsewhere. Pitt should be a solid program, but they will not win enough games against Clemson, Florida st. Miami, on a regular basis to win tha acc.
I was in Pittsburgh for a Pirates game a few years ago and I came away impressed. Very sophisticated and some beautiful architecture. In addition, PNC Park is one of the best places to see a baseball game.

I posted recently about kids from a NJ parochial that weren't high on RU. For what it's worth, I was referring to SJR. And, as far as I have been told, the McCourtys haven't been around the program since Augie took over.

I actually like the city of Pitt but driving to Pitt from NJ, you are driving through the middle of no where and that drive just sux. My point is that if you are from NJ and can choose Rutgers or Pitt, they are so similar as schools, there is no reason to go to Pitt.
Just for fun, make believe your driving to Rutgers Stadium from points west via Delaware Water Gap.

Tell me what you see basically the entire ride once you enter NJ:D

I've always respected the SJR program even from the times I played against them and for years they were very receptive to Rutgers...but lately I think they have been becoming much more 'nose in the air' BergenC-like.

And Zap- it isn't the city of Pitt itself. I sort of like the place. But drive an hour in any direction and what do you have as compared to an hour away from Rutgers...

Interested to know what, if any relationship George Stewart currently has with Rutgers. I guess RU was good enough for him but not his kid.

If you consider silos civilization!
I'm one of those life long NJ residents and advocates that's proud of our rural areas and beautiful farmland, the more the better as far as I'm concerned.

The best way to overcome negative talk about New Jersey is to point out that rural farm land NJ has.
As for the Pitt area, every major city has good and bad areas if you want to look making Pittsburgh no different than the rest.
Kids pick where they want to go for all different reasons and scholarships do help a kid go to the college he wants to go to.
Sometimes it's the sales pitch a recruiter gives that makes the difference between Rutgers and someplace else and why they pick RU instead of another program.

Welp he just got T.Hunt to issue his 'my bad story" in print saying he didnt mean disrespect to RU..yeah okay.
VERY Telling are his own words that his HEAD COACH steered him to a 'ACC' school..wow.
http://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/i...ps_says_it_meant_no_disrespect_committin.html

...just my opinion but yeah, awfully hard to believe that it was all 'just a coincidence' in terms of the adults involved here. I can definitely appreciate a HS coach trying to support one of his players and don't expect every NJ kid to come to Rutgers, but when it comes to the tone/ climate of SJR/ their current staff towards Rutgers as of late, well...if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, has feathers like a duck and lives with other ducks...but I'm sure it's just us being "oversensitive"...
