They are, but even you have to laugh when you type that BS. You had freakin Zion, who gives 2 ***** about preseason. Not only did you have Zion, but the #2 and 3 players with Jones and you still couldn't get to the FF. The difference is we knew we had a good team, but that's it. You guys acted like that was your best Dook team ever and couldn't even get to the FF. No one here ever thought this was one of our best teams ever. Just a really strong team with a shot. You guys got more publicity than our 2012 38-2 team or our 38-1 team LMFAO. Yet didn't do ****, most overrated team ever! Coach rat is washed up.
Just for the record, the last time UK had 2 guys slated to go as high as Z and RJ, they cut down the nets! Mind you, the competition that year across the board, was also stronger than this past season. Glass houses indeed.

I don't believe he has ever been. Cal's teams are not 30 to 35 threes a game type teams. I don't think Hurt's decision will be based on how many 3's a team shoots. Just seemed to me the OP was saying Hurt wouldn't come here based on Cal not wanting to let him shoot a bunch of 3's.

The blunt truth is Mathew Hurt is not a UK type player. He comes from a well to do family that stresses academics more than basketball. He is perfect for Duke. Not so much for UK. Our offense does not fit his game. Duke's does. He would be a square peg being hammered into a round hole at Kentucky.
So let's move on and find a player that does fit the Calipari model. They are out there and they are as good as Hurt. Time to be realistic.

Agreed 100%. My point was do other coaches use this against us in recruiting. I have to believe K is telling recruits that if you want to shine and show case your skill, UK is not the place for you. Come to Duke and you will shine.
Sawnee, the academic part of your post rings a little hollow does it not? I mean they accepted Duval. I'm not saying they are unique in that aspect, but they lost the right to claim to be a school that stresses academics. Just like UNCheat did.
Not sure what this shows other than you don't need to be a 3 pt shooting team to win it, or get far in the tourney. 2012 we were 312th, 2014th we were 302nd, and 2015 we were 325th.
I certainly agree with you regarding their acceptance of non academic basketball players. It is obvious they bend the standards for those types. I thought I read that his dad is a doctor at Mayo Clinic which tells me he would be very attracted to a Duke or even a Vanderbilt. Both have great Medical Schools I am told.
But my point is he is not a UK type basketball player. He is not from generational poverty and he does not fit the mold of a UK player. I am surprised we were even pursuing him.
I think it shows why we don't get shooters. Shooters like to shoot.

I agree while Hurt is a great talent, Cal is not going to play zone to protect him on defense. He didn't do that for Kyle W, and wont for anybody. He will be fine floating around the perimeter at Dook, and flopping like the next Grayson Allen
No, it would be stupid to list just the top teams in 3FG%. To run an efficient offense, it always helps to have a balanced system. My only real complaint is we don't bring in enough shooters. How many times in the past have Kentucky teams been burned by a lack of perimeter shooting during the NCAA Tournament? Just as I listed above with those offensive efficiency ratings, usually the most efficient teams are also the most successful when it comes to winning a title lately.
UK utterly failed by losing in the Elite Eight. Duke's failure, but contrast, was historically awful and eclipses even the 2015 UK Final Four choke job by a continent-sized margin.
No one will remember the arbitrary preseason rankings. They'll just remember that your three top 5 picks choked when it mattered most.

I wish people would stop saying this. Duke went home in the second round. They were clearly beat by UCF. The officials allowed them to move on but the game was totally lost.
No. Just simply no. What hurts us with some of these guys is Cal's relationship with Nike. And I agree with Cal on that one. I'm ready for us to ditch Nike anyway. Under Armor is 100 times better as a product anyway and we would become their marquee team.
It's inefficient because Duke wasn't good at shooting them and teams strategically guarded Duke by forcing them to take 3's. If Duke had more 3 point shooters then it wouldn't have been a bad strategy.
