I think Cal pulls it out. If not, let him go to Duke and be an HP -- Honorary Plumlee.

I'm ready to see Kansas burn down to the ground and then watch the NCAA piss on the ashes.

With Lawson and Grimes declaring (and both sounding totally committed to NOT coming back) the Jailhawks are a couple misses from a team that will be on the bubble - the NIT bubble. Kentucky can't count on the NCAA stripping away those wins gained while De Sousa was ineligible. The Cats need to stretch out the All-Time wins lead by another ten or so next year.

I dont believe that to be entirely true . What was his words to Tyler as he was releasing the game winning three " DRIVE" He might have that approach during the season , but when NCAAT gets here its rock fight time .

I don’t think it’s entirely true either. Otherwise you wouldn’t have an NCAA tournament Game in which Devin Booker took no 3 point shots against Wisconsin or Herro not take one in the 2nd half against Auburn. I don’t think he tells them not to shoot it rather strongly emphasize where he wants shots taken from and it isn’t beyond the arc. It’s even worse for the big men. KAT took all of 8 threes while he was here and he was more than capable of knocking those down (hit 34% his first year in NBA). Would have stretched the defense even more and made him even harder to defend.

Post is getting mean and nasty. Take a deep breath then fart that will take the wind out of your butt.
Seems like that usually happens. Can’t have a decent discussion here without somebody high jacking it with insults.

I think coaches may be using this against Cal in recruiting.

The days of winning a championship without strong three point shooters is over. It is time people realize that it is just the simple fact and go with it.

Which is why it was moronic Duke was jacking threes. Coach K let it happen.
This takes me me back to the puke practice that they aired on espn. Old, senial, lethargic, monotone shiteshefski giving an inspirational talk to the team about being as tough as your mother. Then talking about how they will all get stand still 3’s.
It was one of the strangest and unmotivated talks I have seen.
That rat jumped all in on the one and done to outdo cal and it is sucking the life out of him.
Be gone you rat.

That works in the NBA where regular season games don't mean as much, and the playoffs are a series. If Cal lets Towns roam around the perimeter like you are suggesting, they wouldn't have even come close to being undefeated, and most certainly would have lost to ND. They beat ND because they couldn't guard Towns inside. The problem with taking a bunch of 3s, is all it takes is 1 off night, and you go home. In the NBA, 1 off night and you just focus on the next game in the series.

I agree, that in this day and age, you need at least a couple of guys, but ideally 3-4 that are highly effective 3 point shooters. But let's not act like hoisting 30 3s a game automatically makes you better. On a hot night, you destroy good teams, but on a cold night, you lose to just about anybody that is decent.

Don’t think i advocated for shooting 30 threes or that KAT should have roamed the perimeter. It’s good to have a balance and cal’s teams seem to be at their best when they are shooting around 18 or so. KAT sure spent enough time around the perimeter as it was to shoot more than 8 but he really wasn’t given the green light to shoot those as Cal wanted his baskets to come from the post.

Nothing wrong with that except when you have a big man that can shoot those nothing wrong with them getting a couple of looks per game.

Tyler was also wide open on the wing at the end of regulation against Auburn and never got the ball while we tried to get off a shot against five defenders in the paint.

Since when is Cal against shooting 3's as he suggested?

Uh, he used the word reluctance. That is not wrong. You used the word "against". At least post the statement he used. Those two words are totally different. Would you agree? Like what he posted or not, at least complain comparing Apple's to apples....
