To be fair, NBA summer league defense is truly atrocious…like James Harden/Luka Doncic bad.
I watch a bit of one of the games the other night...It is AAU ball on steroids. To be fair, NBA summer league defense is truly atrocious…like James Harden/Luka Doncic bad.
He looks “fresh”… if his knee ever cooperated, this is the player he COULD be with some work and a lot of luck.
Arthur Kaluma scored 35 for the Lakers last night for cripes sake.I watch a bit of one of the games the other night...It is AAU ball on steroids.
Those guys all know not to play D, not to get physical, none of that in the Summer League.
This is the best answer. He's a good player. But he seems to get worn down as a season goes along. Remember last December or early January, there was talk that he was an All-American candidate. He's going to be a good pro. Not an NBA pro, but D-League or Europe somewhere, absolutely. He looks “fresh”… if his knee ever cooperated, this is the player he COULD be with some work and a lot of luck.
Yep he won’t last an entire NBA season because of his knees but he will ( hopefully) collect a paycheck somewhere else. This is the best answer. He's a good player. Agreed. But if he were ever to play some NBA ball at some point, the Pacers are a good place for him to be. There are a few teams that will like his demeanor and passing ability. And surprisingly, he's not all that bad at guarding mismatches on the perimeter. But I don't think his body would hold up so it's a moot point.Yep he won’t last an entire NBA season because of his knees but he will ( hopefully) collect a paycheck somewhere else.
And most of those guys are just over there for the season. So 4-5 months. If I was presented with the opportunity to play overseas I would do it in a heartbeat. Make decent money ( if they pay you on time) and get to see the world and experience other cultures. Sounds like an amazing time.
You can make some nice cash playing BB overseas now.
There is no shame in that. Kofi Cockburn, who was a stud for Illinois, plays in Japan makes over 700K a year.
YES! Exactly!..and thats after a few NIL years.
I hope kids today are taking advantage of this head start they are now able to get. Cannot even imagine how amazing it would feel to earn a few hundy thousand in college than a few more, for a few years, playing in Europe. You could litetally be set for life before you hit 30. Amazing.
Some will definitely take advantage and others will turn into Delonte West...and thats after a few NIL years.
