Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I find it interesting to rank the football teams:

The only game I want to see them win is the one against NDI would love to get a chance to play Stanford in a bowl this year! They are at the same record as us and have a bad win like us SDSU/Duke. I think we play them next year in the regular season I think- but it would just be fun matching up with them and hopefully winning. They steal a lot of good recruits from us.
#28 seems about right.Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I find it interesting to rank the football teams:

I have mentioned it or used it to make certain points in the past, but not recently...it's a nice compilation of computer and human rankings... the average or median rank (which is provided) can be a useful measure of the strength of a team, especially if it isn't mentioned in the reputable human rankings.Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I find it interesting to rank the football teams:

It really depends on how one views the OT wins...like I said elsewhere, if you think of the OT as de-facto ties (which they were not so long ago) then NU's league record is a modest 1-2-3, identical win % as PU and only marginally better than Minny's...from that PoV #28 would seem overrated...then again, one may choose to view the OT wins as bona fide victories, and then #28 may look about right...I suppose the next two games will tell us much.#28 seems about right.
I think you need to view OT as W's or L's, not de-faco ties, because the possibility of OT likely changes a coache's decision making down the stretch of games. For example, rather than play for OT, MSU might have gone for 2 and the win after their late TD instead of eventually losing in 3 OTs......It really depends on how one views the OT wins...like I said elsewhere, if you think of the OT as de-facto ties (which they were not so long ago) then NU's league record is a modest 1-2-3, identical win % as PU and only marginally better than Minny's...from that PoV #28 would seem overrated...then again, one may choose to view the OT wins as bona fide victories, and then #28 may look about right...I suppose the next two games will tell us much.
I completely agree that it does change the decision making (fair point)...but how would one know which team would ultimately end up benefiting?! Not necessarily whoever won in OT (which you seem to be assuming).I think you need to view OT as W's or L's, not de-faco ties, because the possibility of OT likely changes a coache's decision making down the stretch of games.
SDSU is a solid 8-2 team that also beat Arizona State in addition to Stanford. It's more akin to our loss to Western Michigan last year.I would love to get a chance to play Stanford in a bowl this year! They are at the same record as us and have a bad win like us SDSU/Duke.

They have lost a bunch of close games, so I think the record is slightly misleading. The ACC is tough this year.SDSU is a solid 8-2 team that also beat Arizona State in addition to Stanford. It's more akin to our loss to Western Michigan last year.
Duke has just collapsed. They were strong coming out of the gate but seem to have just lost steam.
