Anyone hear if they are going to go back on the No mask necessary Policy at the football games?
I'd say doubtful... they already have sellouts, now isn't the time to start changing all the rules again or your entire fanbase will be pissed

All the players are wearing facemasks. Been that way for a very long time, no need to change now.

It will depend on infection and hospitalization levels...which depends on vaccination levels.

If you want to be sure the season isn't interrupted get vaccinated and encourage your friends and family to get vaccinated as well.

Its the only way to get this nightmare behind us.

As a side benefit it will also help in keeping people alive. If you're into that.

Agree. Vaccines will have been out for 9.5 months by the time the first home game happens.. if you haven’t gotten one it’s not WVU’s problem. There is also 0 political will for masks/distancing anymore. It was hard enough to force that on people last year probably impossible now.

Every mask policy currently at WVU involves indoors. There won't be a mask policy at games.

I would say it’s a real possibility. I could see a situation where it’s either mask all attendees or cut capacity. With the financial hit that was incurred last year, cutting capacity is going to be an absolute last resort.

You’re correct but the key word you said is ‘current.’ There are several venues across the country that are starting to implement masks outdoors with large gatherings (I haven’t read the exact number). I bet if things don’t start getting better, Shane will implement a mask policy before he will cut capacity.

Granddaughter started at App State and Boone has been declared Covid State of Emergency due to uptick in cases. Masks down to 2 year old are now mandatory again even if vaccinated.

For those of you that actually went to games in 2020, did they actually enforce the mask stuff?

Crowd shots on TV definitely didn't suggest that.

I thought the only way to get the nightmare behind us was to hunker down for 15 days. But what do I know?

I attended the game at Texas and there was virtually nobody wearing them in their seats….however it seemed like they were worn 100% when people were on the move.

Same for Cowboys/Steelers game the following day.

I went to all the games that fans were allowed to attend last year....they had people walk around holding "masks up" signs, but they were not aggressively pointing people out or anything.

Also, I went to fan day this past Saturday and no fans were wearing masks....a few (maybe 8 or so) players wore them during the autograph session.

I think the mask genie is out of the bottle.

This is completely out of control. People are taking experimental medicine as a bow to those intellectually superior. Part of that was served up as a bribe to get rid of a totally ineffective control like masks. I got the vaccine because I support the health benefits. But, I’ll be damned if I put a mask back on for any reason. When surgeons start wearing my cloth, logo mask while operating, I will reconsider my position.

This world is over flowing with pussies.

It will be follow the leader. Once one libtard institution does, they all will. Amazing people base their health on a paper thin mask. They forget they have black lung from smoking and weigh 400 lbs

Just got back home from the Granville Morgantown Walmart and the guy working at the door gave me a mask and said it is mandatory again for what it is worth here in Morgantown

They tried that in Kansas and they ended up all over the store.

I don’t believe WVU will force them at MPS but I do believe, once the FDA approves the various vaccines, there will be a bunch of vaccine mandates coming from schools, employers, government agencies, etc. It is coming because not enough people have been vaccinated so they will be forced to, as much as possible, and it will be legal. I read recently full vaccine approval could come in a few weeks so it could get interesting for the non-vaccinated.

Vaccine mandate is not the same as mask mandate but it’s proven to be necessary to kick CV19’s ***.

What I read didn’t address booster shots but my personal thought is they will be required until more folks are vaccinated and CV19 goes pretty much goes away.

Quarantine, people still got covid.
Social distance, people still got covid.
Wear a mask, people still got covid.
Get the vaccine, people still got covid.
The definition of insanity.

You can’t cut capacity when you’ve already sold all the tickets. How do you determine which tickets to cut? It’s virtually impossible to do at this point

Which is partially my point. I don’t think there will be a capacity limit. However, a mask mandate is not out of the question if things continue to worsen.

Agreed ErieEER…it’s how to deal with it that a lot of people can’t seem to get.
