Well, we know where the Z is from. Maybe the Bo is for Bow and Arrow - like the motion that guys mimic after they hit a three. Or it's a mistake and it's ZBro because he enjoys the London Broil sales at Shop Rite. How does Zach Martini get the nickname ZBo?
And why would the projected starter at the 4 not play?Hopefully he gets on the floor to take these shots.
Doesn't matter how good he is if he's on the bench.

How about a sheep on its hind legs BAAAAAAAingShaken, not stirred. I wonder how many times the poor guy has had to endure that particular joke.
While shooting practice is always good, I think a D1 college player should try to always have someone with a broom guarding them whenever they shoot. Maybe have someone else hip check them or otherwise bump them for lots of shots too.
Everybody can shoot great when unguarded. But can they remain composed and shoot when guarded by taller stronger players?
Practice should be lots harder than games which makes the games lots easier.
I agree except with the JWill on the bench part.Because the fabled "3 guard lineup" puts him on the bench most of the game.
I hope you're right.
I'm a broken record but I'd be starting either Martini or Transfer Shooter (Hayes?) along with Ace/Dylan/Center.
I'd even consider playing (starting???) both for significant minutes with Ace/Dylan and put JWill on the bench.
Even if he doesn't start he's going to be in the rotationHopefully he gets on the floor to take these shots.

I would not say always, there is value to both kinds of practicing. This kind is good for working on a player’s fundamentals, footwork and shooting mechanics.Shaken, not stirred. I wonder how many times the poor guy has had to endure that particular joke.

That would be quite distracting for sure. So a good idea. How about a sheep on its hind legs BAAAAAAAing
We'll see.Depsite better players, I think the rotation is going to be much shorter than people are speculating.
There are only so many minutes to go around with JWill, Ace, Dylan presumably taking up nearly 30min each.
Doubtful Ace or Dylan are playing only 20min in some games like Hyatt and Simpson did on occasion.

Martini is a spot up 3 point shooter. He may occasionally take it to the basket if the opportunity presents itself, but we are not going to nor should we be relying on Martini scoring off the dribbleNo one is doubting whether Martini can shoot, if he's somehow left open....if everyone on here sees it, so does every opposing coaching staff we will play against will see it as well.
Zach is only going to play if he can reasonably guard someone 6'6 to 6'9 without fouling and giving up points off the dribble. If he's going to be targeted by better players, it's tough to see how many minutes he's going to be able to play, so you can take advantage of his shooting.
Martini is going to have to show he can get to the basket, off the dribble, which he wasn't asked to do at Princeton. If he's more than a stationary pick and pop guy, and becomes also a pick and roll to score or pass, then he's a legitimate starter and will help a LOT.
I'm very leery of how limited his role was at Princeton, because he has a lot of tools to work with and maybe was under-utilized there....I think he can do more than what he showed there. One thing Pike usually does very well, is experiment and expanding what options players can do on offense and makes the player prove, that the players not capable of doing more than what he's best at.
I think Martini is probably the starter all year IF he can expand his offense, if not, it's just a matter of time where his defense isn't good enough to be a full time starter, if he's not able to score enough to offset it.
Pike should get a taser and use it if Martini is driving to the basket.Martini is a spot up 3 point shooter. He may occasionally take it to the basket if the opportunity presents itself, but we are not going to nor should we be relying on Martini scoring off the dribble
If only he had some actual game experience we could look at, or some career stats....Let's see it in a game.

There is a reason baseball players hit off a tee in addition to live pitching.
Everything has their own role.
And during shooting practice. Along with the sheep.Pike should get a taser and use it if Martini is driving to the basket.
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS!
When I was a wee lad, we learned how to take free throws while standing in buckets filled with fire ants while our coach threw ninja death stars at our abdomens, while the gym temperature was either 125F or -69F, and with heavy metal music blasting from amplifiers set to volume level 11.
I never miss free throws.
