Kid plays his tail off. God Dammit, I wish he could do it when it mattered. Make plays when it mattered. He just can’t. I just can’t. Its just so unfortunate for everyone. I hate this so much for him, for the team, for fans. Snakebit doesn’t even begin to cover it.

He has actually had a good season. Unfortunately, the two-minute drill is not his strong suit.

Not sure the fumble was his fault. He was stood up. The refs should have blown the whistle to protect the QB, but instead they just stood there dumb, hoping he'd eventually get stripped.

He does not play smart football.

I truly believe that had they not turned it over, they would have scored a td. Alas, it just wasn’t meant to be.

He made a **** load of plays in the second half. Dam shame we decided forward progress didn’t exist for one play. Heartbreaking, especially for him.

If Frost knows he is not coming back, just play Smothers now to get him some experience for next year. Screw the meaningless bowl game.

I thought his momentum was stopped. Just another hard luck game.

He'll leave here with ridiculous stats, yet not a single winning season to show for it. He's the least clutch player I've ever seen.

When do the refs call the ball dead in that situation? Doesn't seem.to be consistent

C’mon. You can blame the refs for some bad calls - but this is stretching it.

F that. A bowl game has never meant more than it does now.
If Martinez is coming back yes. If not, Martinez will just lose it anyway. Need to get Smothers some meaningful reps and prepared for next year if Amart is not coming back.

Never knew a quarterback that could make such spectacular plays in one drive and the next series its like he is a junior high wanna be. Makes no sense. This is just Nebraska football.

It doesn’t look like he cares either. Sideline shots after the fumbles/ints are him “ho-hum”. As long as he scores his 2-3 Tds a game he’s content.

NIL is cool though! How many times, in a very important time in a game, can you just hold on to the ball? WTF

At some point you have to stop saying “we’re so close”. I agree we play teams tough but we consistently find ways to lose. I first saw this in the team in Boulder when we choked that one away at the end. It only keeps repeating.

I don't believe that. He has to stay positive, he is the quarterback. QB's lead and he has to act that way.

Smothers is not the answer. Regardless of who is coaching the team next year, they need to find a QB in the transfer portal.

I've watched the play several times. If you watch his feet, you can see he was still moving forward at the time of the fumble. It is frustrating, and I understand that people are mad, but it was a fumble. The fact is, we played well enough to win, but so did Michigan, and it was Michigan who made the plays when it mattered most.

Okay, so if some linebacker had come along and absolutely obliterated Martinez, you would have considered it a legitimate hit because the whistle hadn't blown? He was being held up for several seconds. He couldn't go down if he wanted to, which means the refs BLOW THE WHISTLE.

Smothers seems to not be the answer because he has only played like 25 snaps of college football in the past two years. I really don't think he is the answer either but do you think Frost would really get a transfer qb? I am trying to offer options based on what I perceive Frosts strategy can be(or lack there of).
