I honestly think we are in good hands with either Martinez or Gebbia. Martinez clearly has the legs of the two and Gebbia is the most accurate. It wouldn’t bother me if either one won the starting spot. They will definitely push each other. Which ever route (QB) we go, i really feel that QB will take us places. How far is on him and coach Frost.

Not to throw cold water on everyone's enthusiasm, but the kid is a true freshman. No matter how good his skill level is there is no substitute for real game experience. Even the great Tommie Frazier had his issues as a true freshman. And Gebbia has no game experience either. Both of those guys will be pretty damn good by the end of this year and into next. But expect a very bumpy ride the first half of the season. Not necessarily in losses to bad teams (Guy Smiley is gone after all), but in inconsistent play.

...and a few Taylor Martinez-type "wow" moments.

Believe it or not, Gebbia is faster. Gebbia has wheels. AMart runs a 4.7 40 and Gebbia runs a high 4.5, no joke!

You must be blind. Trust your eyes...ok maybe not your eyes but trust mine. Gebbia isn't faster than AM and not by a long shot. You are correct, 4.5 is no joke, it's a lie.

Gebbia runs a 4.5 40?? I find that very difficult to believe.
I saw the same 40 time listed for him somewhere in the past year. I can't name the source but I viewed it as credible at the time. The kid is really quick BUT 40 times in shorts and T shirt are not the same as your 40 time in pads and a helmet. IMO, a bigger stronger kid is going to be less affected by his gear than a more slender kid like Gebbia so IMO Martinez may very well be faster in pads. BOTH are plenty quick for Frost's offense.

Yes, as usual you state good comments. If Gebbia is as fast or even close to AM's on the field speed I stand most humbly corrected. Both are good qbs to be sure. Maybe Bunch too. Not a lot of experience but excellent potential for us.

Having terrific depth of talent at qb is a great problem to have. :)

Nobody including Frost know for sure what these kids will do when the bullets are flying, but on the surface I liked a lot of what I saw them do in the spring game. This will be fun to watch and IMO most of what our season is going to be rides on their shoulders.

Both kids have great potential in this offense but Martinez is definitely faster with the pads on. In the spring game Gebbia just seemed to be a bit more erratic where as Martinez appeared really smooth and relaxed out there. Really impressive for a kid that young! Guess we'll see how things shake out by Sept 1st.

True. However we could see frazierFr great potential when he came in the game and the way he took command in the huddle. Wasn't the most popular player in the huddle, might have even been the least. But the team followed him.
Hope we get the same confidence from whoever the starting QB is.
