That is pretty impressive. Even more impressive is him being able to lay off pasta that long. He always talked about his love of Italian food (shocking, I know).

Of all the other Big Ten towns I've been too Ann Arbor has a pretty impressive food scene. Better than all but NW if you include Chicago. Way ahead of some of the others.

Haven't been to West Lafayette yet - but I'd bet you a box of cannoli not missing much.

That said - still...
  1. Italian in Philly is better
  2. Very impressive on the weight loss.

Announcer mentioned how “disciplined” Phil is with his eating habits. Yeah he must have been very focused….
…on the desserts while he was getting up to 267….
You dont get that big on pasta unless he was eating mounds of it three times a day…

Not fat shaming..just thought the announcer’s comment was funny….and Phil did look sharp with the bright yellow sneakers which matched his top…

Phil, excellent work.

But my man...you're a former HC/Top assistant coach. It was time for some new pants and a tighter fitting shirt about 30 pounds ago. That fit last night was horrendous.

Yes, but he stated it awkwardly. St. Joes may never again be relevant in basketball because Phil was basically working miracles there.

It's true. St. Joe's has been in the crapper ever since they got rid of Martelli.

his last 3 years there looked like his magic was fading , but far better than Billy Lang has produced in his 3 years.

Mulcahy offered the RU job to Martelli back in 2001 after Jay Wright went to Nova. Martelli went back to St. Joe's, talked to the AD, got a pay raise, and then told RU no way. We ended up with Gary Waters who had some success but was a woeful recruiter, excellent coach, but didn't want to live in NJ.

Martelli’s 2004 team with Jameer Nelson and Delonte West was a very good guard oriented team. Both were first round picks.
Undefeated regular season and lost in regional final.

That Oklahoma state-st . Joes game was a great one . The meadowlands had some great regionals over the years.

Don’t think he ever was or will be a slave to fashion. Something likable about Phil. His firing from SJU will prove a sports curse for the Hawk
