"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." Matthew 7:6
15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;

Since this is basically a religious thread I just wanted to use this opportunity to say I'm surprised no one posted about the pastor charged in the 1970's disappearance of a girl at a Bible camp. Strange how people don't post about stuff like that but are all over anything involving schools.
True. Christianity is riddled with sexual abuse.

Is religion perfect? Not even because the human race destroys it from within and those that wish it not to exist. You seem to judge religion by man and not by God himself. God provided us with direction (Bible) and choice, what we do with it after that is up to each individual. The Garden of Eden was the life intended but the but choice side of life ruined it.
I struggle immensely everyday due to choice, doesn't make religion false or me bad. It just means I'm human and need to better myself. the lord warned of false prophets and I see those as those people leading other a stray in the name of God.
For a 2000 year old book it's weird how the prophecies in it our coming to life in this day and age. I warn of a moneyless society and right now our elected government is talking of doing away with cash. This isn't true with just us but many other countries are heading that way. We currently have places in Utah that won't except cash. Is it a sign of the times? Who knows? Scares the crap out of me.
Yes, we are all imperfect and struggle and learn to be better. But why needlessly put on an extra burden? You are not wretched. You are not dirty rags. You don't need to be saved. You are fine.

Don't let narcissistic gods emotionally manipulate you. If these types of people existed in our physical lives, we wouldn't take that crap. It is an abusive relationship.

Not sure what you think this means, but Matthew 7:15 reads: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing but inwardly are ravenours wolves." How apropos.

You lead off your response with “15,” in response to a Matthew quote. It’s is on you to clarify. And “yes,” it is perfectly relevant, you are a false prophet, with, clearly, bad intentions.

1st, you ignore audience relevance
2nd, I'm not claiming to be a prophet or speak in god's name

God is a narcissistic abuse victim? How so? I mean, it sounds to me like you are the victim.
the biblical god is a narcissist and narcissists often play the victim to emotionally manipulate ones
christians are truly the victim and they don't know it
they praise their abuser

But you are the victim. You keep complaining about how unfair everything is and how hard it is to be a Christian and that you were miserable. You focus on how simply doing whatever you want, without worrying about God, has set you free. You want to be free to indulge in whatever you want, no matter how depraved, without any guilt or shame. You are absolutely a narcissist. You are absolutely the victim. That big meanie God is cramping your style, which is stopping you from doing the things that you want to do. Poor baby.

All Christians who try to follow the teachings are victims. Most just don't know it or it doesn't affect them because they don't really follow the teachings. People in cults don't know they are in a cult until they leave. Same with abusive relationships.

Doing and thinking whatever I want is a byproduct of freedom. If I wanted to leave so I could do whatever I wanted, I would have done that when I was a teenager. I wouldn't have spent 20+ years studying.

Jesus was certainly a gaslighting narcissist. Most religious leaders are. The way you act certainty is like Jesus.

What a bunch of gobbledygook, per the usual. According to you, being a true Christian means that person is a miserable, but they aren’t aware that they are miserable? And people that are in abusive relationships don’t know they are in abusive relationships? This is so stupid it isn’t even funny. You really did get screwed up by “studying.”

Peter 2:20-22. If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,”[a] and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”

Just because you don't understand doesn't mean you are right.

Gaslighting and cognitive dissonance is how the religion survived those crucial years where Jesus didn't come back. Jehovah's Witnesses said the same thing when their predictions failed and people left.

True, that is why is it good to study and learn and not buy into things without investigating it first. Christianity doesn't let you do that. They want you to use your mind to join but turn it off once in.

You are certain that Jesus isn’t the son of God, and have been invited countless times to tell us why. However, you post things like articles from the pizza guy to substantiate your position, and make sweeping generalizations, as if you are having some mic-drop moment. It is bizarre. I mean, anyone can say anything they want, and these days find at least something, even if only tangentially related, to support it. The issue here is just how definitive and certain you are that Christianity is a fraud, and how hell-bent you are in disparaging Christianity, but with weak sauce. Having an opinion is great, but you are attacking it (which is weird) with, after 20 years of study, relatively little, and you’re acting like we’re all brainwashed miserable people because we aren’t one of the couple dozen people that follow the pizza guy. There are cults for sure, sounds like you might be in one. As you said, you don’t know you are in one, until you are out.

I'm just letting ones know that a better life may exist for them outside of religion. Many don't even think it is an option to leave when they realize that they are miserable. I recommend them to be honest, research and let the truth lead them where it may. It is hard for ones to do that because of the fear built into many belief systems. Cognitive dissonance is a defense mechanism because the unknown is scary.

I am glad that there has been an awakening in recent years and seems to be accelerating.

That's what sows do to cool off and for the record, sows are clean animals. Also why admonish god's creations for behaving in the manner they were created to behave?

You are like your father the devil who is the father of lies and an angel of light. It is written:
"Again, the devil *took Him along to a very high mountain and *showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus *said to him, “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’” Then the devil *left Him; and behold, angels came and began to serve Him." Matthew 4:8-11.
