Satan has already lost. He lost a long long time ago. Christ, Jesus has risen beyond death. He is our Lord and Savior. He makes us all holy.
When does he makes ones holy? Because I don't see any great change or utopia in the Christian churches. When one converts there is usually a honeymoon phase, but like a drug, the darkness creeps in. This is all under the assumption that one takes the bible seriously.

Matthew 17:18-20. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

It's pretty cool. Definitely don't believe it is the result of natural laws.
That's impressive, and quite convincing. I mean, that kind of substance just blows you away, like .. . . YES, THAT is what we have all been missing. Why couldn't Jesus just say this? You and the # pizza guy really, really got if all figured out.

I'm not trying to convince you. I'm just not limiting my possibilities to a religion. Arrogance is thinking you have everything figured out, like religion does.

Do you believe God could have done better than give us a 2000 year old book that has been proven to have been altered? Why do you think cults develop? Because they promise new revelations, which is what mankind is wanting. Why can't God see that?

do we have any extra-biblical sources for this?

I "don't believe I have it all figured out". I have faith in my Lord, whom is the only one preaches love.

why do you have faith in your Lord? He said he was coming back in the 1st century and he didn't.
He saved you and I, 2000 yrs ago. Some of us have more appreciation for it than others.

Let's start at the beginning shall we? Christ was born. He was a babe. He is your thanks for your 12/25 gifts.

Christ was born for us all. The ultimate present of all - for ALL mankind. He would grow to be a sacrificial lamb for all humanity.

In the beginning, the gods fashioned the world into land and sky.

The gods created the nation of Israel and was given to Yahweh

Yahweh would bless those who followed his law and curse those who didn't

Assyrians and Babylonians took them into exile and this was blamed on the people not following the law

After Babylon exile, they return home, rebuild the temple and follow the law.

Things still suck for Israel and they don't know why

Apocalyptic literature becomes very popular and the idea of Satan and God become influenced from Persia when they were in captivity.

The battle between the forces of good and evil will eventually be overthrown by Yahweh

They look for a mighty king/messiah to return Israel to glory

Many believed Jesus to be the case and to be the savior of Israel

They didn't expect him to die so they had to fit that into their understanding based on the OT texts

They expected Jesus and the Kingdom to come soon, within their lifetimes

It didn't come within their lifetimes so the Kingdom became spiritual and eventually became the church

The Bible maintains a perfect consistency of message despite forty authors writing from three continents over nearly two thousand years. How many words or phrases in the US Constitution are used in today's vocabulary? How much of Shakespeare makes sense to the modern man?

I think this will make sense to you, you have no desire for understanding or openness of mind to hear exactly what the Bible is saying. Not meant as an insult, but when you are ready to read the Bible and hear God's word, open your mind and heart will open, till then...

R.C. Sproul comments on the purpose of the Parables in the Gospels (but works for the entire Bible as well):

“Jesus explained that for those who have ears to hear, the parable provides a deeper understanding of Jesus’ teaching. But for those who don’t have ears to hear, the parable is actually an instrument of concealment. The parable was not given simply to make everything clear to people; it was also given to obscure meaning to those who are outside, who are not given understanding. That sounds somewhat harsh. Jesus came not only to instruct and to help people understand the kingdom of God, He came also as a judgment on those who don’t want to hear the truth.”
Good commentary from R.C. Sproul. But also see below...

Matthew 10:34
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword."

Since this is basically a religious thread I just wanted to use this opportunity to say I'm surprised no one posted about the pastor charged in the 1970's disappearance of a girl at a Bible camp. Strange how people don't post about stuff like that but are all over anything involving schools.

Is religion perfect? Not even because the human race destroys it from within and those that wish it not to exist. You seem to judge religion by man and not by God himself. God provided us with direction (Bible) and choice, what we do with it after that is up to each individual. The Garden of Eden was the life intended but the but choice side of life ruined it.
I struggle immensely everyday due to choice, doesn't make religion false or me bad. It just means I'm human and need to better myself. the lord warned of false prophets and I see those as those people leading other a stray in the name of God.
For a 2000 year old book it's weird how the prophecies in it our coming to life in this day and age. I warn of a moneyless society and right now our elected government is talking of doing away with cash. This isn't true with just us but many other countries are heading that way. We currently have places in Utah that won't except cash. Is it a sign of the times? Who knows? Scares the crap out of me.
