I don't feel I lose anything but my authentic self if I followed religion.
I have gained happiness, peace, fullfillment and a unique experience.
RMM, I'm happy for ya. You don't need to follow a religion.

As dumb as it might sound.... find a quiet place. Talk out loud. Just say what is in your heart. Be free about it man. Be true to yourself and offer up your problems and stresses to "a higher power"

Isn't theology fun? Didn't the supposed author do a good job of making things "plainly seen" and not confusing.

Apologetics means that the Bible is not a book for all people. You need an authority to tell what it means.
Apologetics is defending the faith... 1 Peter 3:15. The word “apologetics” derives from the Greek word apologia, which was originally used of a speech of defense or an answer given in reply.

Hermeneutics is proper Bible interpretation... Knowing the culture, language, and writing style of the time and applying it to today's culture.

so the bible wasn't a book for the average person to understand.
god could have done better to communicate with humanity.

Beautiful. You can't discuss Mark . . . is it because of this?

Mark 1: 9-11

"It happened in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John.
coming up out of the water he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, 'You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.'"

You'd rather post an article from "#PizzaOverEverything" guy. You are so smart. Anyone who wants to find something to back-up what they think, can find an article on it.
Jesus is not a prophet. The context you are using that verse in portrays him as such.

The thread is about marriage not Jesus

Find the right woman and marriage is great. Pick the wrong one and marriage sucks.

Nothing beats a wife wanting to paint a room, compulsively buys paint, paints said room and then... doesn't like it. ;)

"The color looked different at the store!"

Or if they all of a sudden want to "take up golf" so that they can "play with you"

The Bible maintains a perfect consistency of message despite forty authors writing from three continents over nearly two thousand years. How many words or phrases in the US Constitution are used in today's vocabulary? How much of Shakespeare makes sense to the modern man?

I think this will make sense to you, you have no desire for understanding or openness of mind to hear exactly what the Bible is saying. Not meant as an insult, but when you are ready to read the Bible and hear God's word, open your mind and heart will open, till then...

R.C. Sproul comments on the purpose of the Parables in the Gospels (but works for the entire Bible as well):

“Jesus explained that for those who have ears to hear, the parable provides a deeper understanding of Jesus’ teaching. But for those who don’t have ears to hear, the parable is actually an instrument of concealment. The parable was not given simply to make everything clear to people; it was also given to obscure meaning to those who are outside, who are not given understanding. That sounds somewhat harsh. Jesus came not only to instruct and to help people understand the kingdom of God, He came also as a judgment on those who don’t want to hear the truth.”

40,000+ denominations beg to differ.

Jesus acted very differently in the varying gospels.

The age of religion is coming to an end and some will go kicking and screaming.

I’m referring to what is happening to western civilization especially in our urban centers.
indeed. the times they are a changing. The transition has begun and a vacuum was created. We are hopefully on the upswing of the Bo>Riley>Frost>Rhule trajectory.

He's acting like an overgrown toddler having a perpetual tantrum. Fun to watch really.
Cue him crying about me "insulting him"
SBF isn't lying. Honestly you are legitimately an ***. If you interact with other posters better, you'll receive better attention.
