He had a damn good run as an assistant at FSU and won a **** load of games at Georgia, just could never win the big game that mattered. Put a ton of guys in the pros and his win % is pretty damn impressive for major CFB. His biggest knock is winning the games that truly mattered, but everything else is pretty damn good.

Imagine if Devaney never won any championships, would anyone even talk about him or would it just be all Osborne? Kirby has buried Mark.

Other coaches elected this cycle

The four coaches to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in December will be Monte Carr of Shepherd; Roy Kramer, the Central Michigan coach who became Southeastern Conference commissioner; Mark Richt, who coached Georgia and Miami; and triple-option guru Paul Johnson, who had stints at Georgia Southern, Navy and Georgia Tech.

Sure why not. Solid win percentage. Only coach to make Miami Hurricanes good recently. And won 2 SEC titles I suppose he can be in. And based on the type of coaches up to be put in he deserves it.

Apparently being rumored as the next Husker HC is a ballot-booster. Can Houston Nutt be far behind?

The events surrounding the induction ceremony - dinner etc - are one of the main revenue sources for the college football hall of fame. The more people inducted - the greater the attendance - the larger the revenue.

It’s a business decision as much if not more than a merit decision

Gary Pinkel is in the hall of fame for gods sake

What should the floor be? Richt has 2 sec titles and 9 ten win seasons. A ton of success as a coordinator too. I'm fine if he isn't in, but then you got to take a lot of people out. Paul Johnson certainly wouldn't belong if richt doesn't
