Sure, hole digging blows chunks but being able to climb out of one is invaluable in my eyes. Without that ability in the bag the plan will not likely survive a real punch in the mouth. Something really valuable is being instilled, it has happened too many times.

The problem with the comebacks for me? They shouldn’t have been in position to need the comeback. No better example than the LSU game. The fact they were getting shedded by LSU is a big big problem.

Tubby had a winning percentage of 79% with a title season and 3 more Elite 8 seasons and 5 SEC championship seasons through his first 8 years. Acting like he was allowed to stay too long is pretty goofy.

I don't just look at things on the surface. The Kentucky head coach should not struggle to land recruits, especially not to this degree. Do I think Kentucky will still get recruits under Pope? Yes. Through luck, the program's brand, or sheer force of resources, Kentucky will still attract talent. But that doesn't mean Pope is good enough at recruiting or that he's succeeding in that area. That's like counting W's and L's and not also looking at the fact you were down by 20 in many of those wins and blown out in many of those losses.

Its not who you miss on fella. Its who you get. Bottom line, top 5 recruiting class

Quick trivia fact, what is "Dark Pope's" career winning percentage? Beating your chest about a coach who just lost 14 games, and finished near the bottom of the SEC with a preseason top 10 roster, and followed that up with the worst NCAAT loss in 50 years, is a choice. A choice made by weird downies with parsasocial relationships to coaches.

You mean largest margin in an NCAA tournament loss in 50 years. It is only the 3rd worst loss in the tournament in the last 5 years. St Peter's and Oakland were definitely worse.

I did answer the first question...how can he keep his job?

As to how he can turn it around...while not saying I think he will....he could turn it around if he brings back the right 6-7 players, we end up getting Stokes, Holt or Collins, and if he goes out and gets one or two of the top five portal guys, or a Euro star or top five HS reclass.

Or....his team catches fire, gets lucky and matches or exceeds last years S16 finish.

Did we bring back the right 6-7 players? Moreno and Williams (maybe Hawthorne)- but not 6-7
Did we get Stokes (no), Holt (no) or Collins (no)
Did he get one top five portal guy (yes)
Will we hit the lofty goal of a S16 finish? Lol - Might
