Good grief. We talk about Gronowski like he is some mythical man-beast with magical powers that can redeem the kingdom. We need a lot more than a good transfer QB to put together a competitive team.
Ramsey turned us into Champs after 3-9 season. It isn't the only thing. But it is the most important. At the least m gronowski would get us to a bowl game. MG is better than ramsey. And MG made lujan look like a potent wizard

Suggest NU land three OLmen before attempting to land a QB, or stay with Lausch for that matter. Who would come with a line that gets steamrolled? Everyone is down on Lausch but I am super impressed he is still standing upright. That is one athletic guy.

I’d be happy if we got a QB (hopefully Gronowski), 2 solid OL, and 2 WR’s in the portal. That might help a lot.

Umm… he’d be on national TV every week. Start there. And he’s a serious student (3.7 GPA in mechanical engineering) so he’s probably thinking of more than just the No Fun League.
I was at the game, he was on of the few players that looked to have a pulse. Kirtz was another.
That’s problematic. Lausch has not shown the growth in decisionmaking that I’d hoped. Not regressing but he is more inconsistent than earlier in the year. To a non expert, he just looks like he doesn’t know how to run the offense. Whether it’s RPO decisions, making reads and adjusting at the line, knowing when to tuck and run (almost never) and when to pull the trigger and just throw it (how many drop backs end up with him sacked or running out of bounds or throwing it away)?
At this point, the body of work by Lausch suggests he is a good athlete who is trying to be a QB, not a QB who happens to be a good athlete. He may still end up like a Mike Kafka by year five, but he doesn’t have the arm of Kafka.
If I were Braun, I would hit the portal for a QB as if my job depended on it. Not sure Gronowski either.

Can you get the NU grad degree in one year? I mean the second half is prepping for the pros.
It is just that he has only had success under Lujan and actually knows the O rather than having to learn a new one
Some of that might have to do with the Ds he is facing in the last couple games. He is not getting a whole lotta help out of OL or running attack eithe ( mean the team ran for negative yds against Mich actually about 11 yds. It was negative the last graphic I saw) Pretty hard to be successful under those circumstances

Yes. There are several masters programs. NU basketball players have done it. Cam Johnson did it last year in football as well.
If we go into next season with that bum Lausch as QB1 we might as well not sell season tickets. He’s atrocious.
Sports Administration is a one year program.
Some defenses will always be better than others. He’s looked decent against the worse defenses we’ve faced (Purdue, etc.) and bad against the better defenses we’ve faced (OSU, Michigan, etc.). This isn’t at all surprising.
He will be anyway in the winter of 2025. 3 wins at best next season with a new stadium opening and premium tickets to sell.
So we have little chance against good defenses with Lausch? If that is the case and I believe it is, NU is in big trouble going forward.

We have little chance against good defenses because our offensive personnel sucks across the board (at least right now). I remain a lot more bullish on Lausch’s longer-term potential than almost anyone else.

Both were Honorable Mention. Regardless that’s basically “top half of the conference.”
By “across the board” I meant overall talent is just not there, despite a couple guys who are at the higher level.
It’s so funny to see you suddenly the biggest proponent of Lausch and handing him the job again!
(I think if the right guy in the portal is an option they wouldn’t hesitate to grab him. Gronowski would probably qualify as that, although based on the financial amounts JT’s reported he turned down to return to SDSU NU would be in trouble to be his best landing spot).
Think about how Susan o’connell was so bad his first year (also walk on) and as their new coach recruited better o line and others, Aidan got better every year and now is a pro.
I’d give them another year. Braun hampered last year in recruiting until became coach Kate and we also lost many 2023 recruits with the Fitz fiasco.

The amount of improvement Lausch would need to make seems very unrealistic to me. I realize the supporting class is mainly subpar.
This is where I am with lausch. He would have to make an enormous leap just to be an average BIG QB. It’s possible, but I just don’t see it. There is a reason no one recruited him as a QB.
Would love to be wrong.
Good Grief. I can’t remember a guy taking this much **** from this board as Lausch when basically the entire team around him is awful. I guess Clayton only won because of Saint Hank so that sums up the analytical skills of most on here.
