Regardless of whether Lee comes back or not is a moot point!

He has had three off seasons to develop a jump shot, a free throw or improve ball handling

I don't think he has put in the work it takes to make it, but he has been one of the best ambassadors UK has ever had. And that is a quality that will make him successful outside of basketball.

We are not all going to make it in professional sports....

Someone on twitter just made kind of an interesting point about Marcus Lee cancelling his workouts. If he were planning on returning to UK, he likely wouldn't have cancelled the workouts because he could've used them to get more feedback. Why cancel something that could be really beneficial for you? Why not just go through them and then return to UK all the same?
Yeah I still think he will go overseas. He knows he won't see much playing time next season and now realizes he won't be drafted so I think he will try to make some money playing in another country.

I just don't get people wanting him to do anything but come back to school when in their minds Bolden will come to UK if he doesn't come back. Folks, There's no promise of Bolden coming here even if half the team leaves!

Because you can end up doing your future stock more harm than good by appearing at workouts where you know you'll under-perform. NBA workouts are a two-way street, it's not just the teams giving the player "feedback", but also the player giving the NBA teams an impression that is gonna be recorded and remembered, not only now but next year if he comes back.

And, frankly, I think Lee's already gotten the feedback he needs from his miserable showing at the combine. He doesn't need even more people telling him he ain't ready. If he already knows his game ain't there right now, then might as well cut your losses instead of worsening the situation with even more bad evaluation performances.

Working out for teams this year would not affect his stock next year. You are right about it being a 2 way street, but if you were coming back, there would be no logical reason to cancel the workouts. What will affect his stock next year is not proving he has fixed what NBA teams are telling him is broke over the course of the season.
