Does anyone know what kind of timeline to expect on Marcus Carr? Seems like the deadline to withdraw from the draft is like July but I can’t imagine he would wait that long. To me this was our best option at the point next year and while it seems like the sky is falling, if we wind up with Carr and Frederick or a decent backup, I like where we are at heading into next year.

The sky is not falling. Carr and Frederick are both coming.

Carr barely returned to college last year. Word in MN is that he wants to play professionally but maybe UK offer would change that. I am not nearly as high on him as most, but I've also watched him play more, will add that Andrew Slater had a tweet the other day in reference that "Things will be fine for UK" after Hickman decommitted, and then when seeing the options provided referred to Carr as "one option has gotten more coaches fired then the FBI".

It's really getting concerning now that Hickman decided not to come. Now one point guard won't be enough and we have to sign 2.Hard to understand it being May and not one point guard on the roster. We really need Mintz back. He's not a point guard but he might have to play it.

Why are people freaking out? Who cares if we have our roster set now or in 3 or 4 weeks? Players aren’t on campus together anyways. Cal doesn’t need to appease the fans. I guarantee he’ll fill out the roster with quality players. Might not be final 4 good. But as long as we’re back in contention. Quit being so impatient. Just bc it’s incomplete on May 2nd. I’m sure it’ll look good come June 2nd.

It's frustrating.I keep hoping one of he,Pippen jr,the Georgia Tech point guard,Creighton point guard will pull out of the draft and come here. It's just seeming more and more unlikely though and I'm starting to think Sahvir Wheeler might end up being our starting point guard.Maybe the new staff will pull a rabbit o

Let me help you...

1. UK is coming off a 9-16 season (which included on and off the court frustration)
2. A lot of talented players are leaving early (transfer) or Pro (even though they may or may not be drafted high)
3. We just had our McDonald's AA PG decommit for whatever reason.
4. As time passes, less options (generally) are available

Cal likely will fill spots with some warm bodies but will UK be in the conversation for a Title? (Cal's stated standard)...likely no.

Those things can = freak out ....if you still consider UK a blue blood program. If no, then no need to "freak out".

You put good players around Carr, and he would be a star. He had to do everything for Minnesota, and his stats suffered because of this. Carr is superstar just waiting to happen, but he can't do everything himself like he had to at Minnesota. Give him some good players around him and you will see.
