It's great how they're tying the half time show in with the game theme. Cheerleaders and dance team excellent too. Concessions are improved and I was even allowed to bring in sun screen! Now we just need a team....
I sit on the home side and basically haven't heard a halftime show in forever.
They always face the away sideline.
But I will say this, the backs of the uniforms look nice...
That's simply not true because the first game they split the performance between the two sidelines - maybe you missed that. Today they focused on the West sideline - possibly because the formations were more complicated. Overall, have done a great job this year.
Way bigger than they used to be. So many improvements! Color guard WAY better, formations are relevant and mean something - not seen that in years. Music is on point. They look like a Big Ten band and it can only get better.
Thought the horn section was disappointing. Found out later why.

No. There are positives. Tyshon Fogg is a positive. Isaiah Pacheco. There are a couple of others. But if that's how you feel, that's your opinion.

All of those members are on scholarship.
I was told by someone involved with the band that the band is having trouble recruiting in part, because the football team is not doing well. Everything is tied together. There are a ton of practices and events to show up at and, as @Scarlet_Scourge said, while tOSU band is on scholarship, the RU band members are not.
I'm sure that's true. If you go to a school where the games sell out and tickets are hard to come by, a sure-fire way to get a seat is to join the band. Comes at great time commitment, but you're in.
Not really. Think I counted 175 opening night. MUCH BETTER, however, no question.
It's not the size of the band that matters, it's their rhythm.

Great move by Fleck. The spirit/band kids never get enough credit. Those kids really work. Our Dance team is top 5.
I wonder if Fleck got the idea from Schiano when he showed up at the student ticket lines with Pizza. (those were the days - lol)
Homecoming and once again the home sideline ignored at halftime.

Every song faced the visitors sideline.
On a positive all the backs of the bands uniforms appeared clean.
Band sounded great once again, nice job to all Alumni who performed! Formations looked good and were quickly and crisply executed.
