Having a kid from Aurora and Millard come up big is awesome
The 70s pornstache Aurora kid is a flat out baller. Kid can farking play.

I might lay some smoke on Creighton to win it all. Their 4 studs went for 21, 20, 19, and 18 tonight. Nobody else has as deep a scoring tandem as the Jays.

They all play that much. I would that’s incredible, but they’re kids. They don’t get much from their bench, but they don’t need to. I think they’re fun to watch.

The bench is thin but Jason Green has deserved more playing time for a few weeks now. Green coming up big tonight wasn’t a huge surprise to anyone who’s been watching the Jays.

Green has a nose for the ball. Kid can rebound. His put back dunk was huge.

I don't think bench matters all that much going forward.

There are so many TV timeouts and stoppage of play in the tourney from here on out. And the game really starts to slow down on a possession to possession type game when we get to the Sweet 16 and beyond.

They have Tennessee and likely Purdue. What bench do those teams have?

I tend to favor playing starters a ton of minutes. But one area where the thin bench hurts Creighton is that the starters sometimes bend over backwards not to get into foul trouble. That's part of the reason Dante got so may layups tonight and didn't shoot a FT for almost 40 minutes.

Yeah, maybe true.

I like how they match up with Tennessee, but if Kalkbrenner gets into any kind of foul trouble they could be in trouble.

But their length on the perimeter will be a problem for Knecht as well. And if Knecht isn't scoring, Tennessee can be easily beat.

For those that live in or near a city that is hosting the Sweet 16 I strongly encourage you to buy tix and go.

My son and I went to both sessions in KC last year and it was some of the best basketball I’ve ever seen.

Facts. While tickets are expensive, the opportunity to see the games without travel costs added in makes them very reasonable. Alla round awesome vibe at these events. Went to a final four several years ago and it was awesome!

94.7% for my ESPN brkt...I know everyone is dying for these updates...
I deleted my yahoo and cbs sportsline apps from my phone after the first day of games because I’m a “sore loser” according to my wife. I was dead last out of 73 in my office pool…not even tied for last. I was alone.

Worst tournament ever. 😂

Never been to the Sweet 16 but the first round games are a blast as well. Usually such a random mixture of teams and everyone has hope the first day. I love the feeling in the air when the underdog keeps it close and the locals + other team get behind them.

Would love to see that one.

Creighton has a great bracket of games we all need to watch.

Oregon wasn't bad, and now Tennessee and possibly Purdue.

As a full on Husker fan, Ima rooting for this Jays team. They have a real shot at winning it all.

CU has a 6'11" kid from LSE? Why not NU?
Dak is a long-term project for sure. There have been games this year when he gave CU some really good minutes. But other nights he’s looked like he never played BB before.

Not sure if NU had any interest or not. Fred probably felt like he needed more immediate help, whereas Boyle has a job for life and could better afford to give him a spot.

Fred also appears to have a job for life

Yes that’s true now, but probably wasn’t when Fred had to make a decision on Dak. Boyle, on the other hand, is a lifer if there ever was one. Now that the Buffs made a nice run, he’ll probably be extended through 2050.

I am totally going to be that guy and root for Houston to freaking kill A&M. I hope the Aggies have their worst shooting day of the year and lose by forty.

Idk about winning it all, but I’d love to see kalkbrenner and Edey battle it out. If Creighton is shooting it well, they’re hard to beat. If they have a night like they had against Oregon they can get blown out. They did not shoot well.

I think Houston wins and it would he tough for A&M to match the shooting percentage they had against us Friday night..

Wow, a lot of Creighton admirers on here. Thanks NU admins and Hoiberg. Sure glad we don't have to worry about our head coach being hired away.

The really frustrating part of college basketball is the lack of consistency from officials. I’m not talking missed/bad calls. While that’s always an issue, I generally don’t have an expectation that there won’t be human error when you’re trying to evaluate very high level athletes playing a physical game in real time. But it’s blatantly obvious there is no set standard for the level of physicality allowed from crew to crew, game to game, or team to team. They allow so much contact some games and then the next tournament game starts and they’re calling touch fouls everywhere. It really does influence outcomes as multiple teams have come out and had key players in foul trouble in the first 3 minutes today. And beyond that, the style of play they allow can tip the scales from favoring finesse vs physical teams. I get some of this comes from what each conference wants/allows and then those crews likely call games how they have all year…but man it gets old and I wish they could standardize and fix it. /rant.
