That's the truth. I watch CFB religiously and once finished second in a bowl pool to a girl who picked the teams because of the team colors or mascots or something dumb like that.
Not many despise this program more than me but Trev didn't create these awful football and basketball situations. The inexplicable contract extensions to coaches producing all time garbage records is something he inherited.
It's tough watching, once again, all these teams partying while we are stuck at home. Or to watch teams no one follows and play in crackerboxes perform better in the tourney than any team in Husker history.
The financial burden is just too horrendous right now. Personally Nu's only purpose for me right now is to beat teams that most of us can't stand (Iowa and Creighton). Other than that they can shove their woke national anthem crap. No amount of 3 pointers made makes up for insulting our country before games.

I am in total agreement with you. It's bad business to pay Fred to stay. Much better investment to pay him to leave. It's called a sunk cost.
He's a good player but he is a giant whiner. I'd blame it on him being European, but we all know it's because of who he plays with/for.

Thank you Penn State for allowing me to laugh at Aggies fans again. Network is probably pissed about missing out on a Texas-A&M game. If the Nits shooting stays hot they could go on a bit of a run. I think most of us can agree it'd be funny if they take down Texas too if nothing else, lol.
I get your frustration. But blowing that windfall on a maybe is a tough decision. That particular decision isn't as big a deal with me because I don't feel any connection with the program. Trev and Fred using a representative of the State of Nebraska to capitulate to ne'er-do-well', one and done, basketball players who not only eschew team ball but their fanbase leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I went to a particular game a few years ago in which our players were visibly not paying attention or joking around during the national anthem while the human coatrack did nothing about it. His public comments let the fans know they should feel guilty about our country. Like whoa, I just wanted to see good basketball.
That isn't going to happen. I don't support this program because they not only put out a joke concerning quality but give the average fan the middle finger. There is no redeeming value in it. If they weren't getting the big contract money there is no way they'd be spitting in the fans (boosters) eyes.
