I'm pretty sure obama has given his 2 cents on multiple issues in the last year. Also saw him make multiple appearances on the campaign trail for candidates in the last year- you might not have noticed, though.

My old biz school roommate sold his waterfront home in NJ due to constantly increasing flooding. Bought a new house inland but did not like it so they flipped that one. Now has bought a new waterfront home but it is high above the flood plain so it will be safe from rising seas.
I cant speak to Obama's situation b/c I don't follow his comings and goings like you do. But it is possible to buy waterfront property that is not in danger of flooding with what is coming in the next 20-30 years.

What’s more likely, 97-99% of scientists are wrong or are corrupt, or the remaining 1 - 3% of opposition are wrong/corrupt? Btw - $400 a pop for covid tests in Manhattan......if you just take the positive test count of 21,000 that's $8.4m in one day of test kit sales. Now multiply that by 5x for secondary tests and negative results. If you don't think Covid is just as much about money at this point, I don't know how to help you. That's a single city on a single day of testing. Quantify that out across the country and do it for a full year before you tell me why we are still driving vaccines and testing.
The reality is I have no war with the vaccines other than folks like Elizabeth Warren who has all 3 shots and wears face masks to sleep alone with her 9 cats but yet somehow still has covid. the vaccine doesn't prevent infection, but data shows it does help curb the infection rate. speaking personally, i could see how there's been an uptick in covid recently considering people's lax social distancing standards and with how infectious Omicron is compared to other strains. luckily this strain isn't as deadly so hopefully the hospitals aren't as impacted as they were with the other ones. i mean **** i never wear a mask anymore unless i have to and i go about my day like i did before COVID came around. mainly because i'm vaccinated and don't really deal with large groups of people often.

Gas prices rose to pr-covid levels bc people started driving again and people freaked out. Inflation is happening but that is also a result of not raising interest rates when we could have. This was a long time coming.
I'm not a biden fan--he should be doing more--but the admin has been aggressive with trying to combat gas prices and the distribution, supply chain crisis that hasn't materialized.

Dude, listen to me......the global investment banks have built Covid analyst desks to track Infection rates, death rates, effective treatments, vaccine success etc and that's not for directly linked investments per Goldman, it was mainly because they didn't know what was factual and what wasn't to make global decisions around wfh or return to work, office relocations etc. We hired two quants last year to build streaming TWAP and VWAP but took one of them off of that project to build similar predictive models. While I won't sit here and tell you that covid doesn't exist and that it hasn't been deadly for some, I can tell you that the method we have taken to fight it needed to be reconsidered earlier this year.
The challenge with the vaccine data in regards to slowing the infection rate is you don't know how many people had covid before or after they received the vaccine and therefore have natural immunity. as the science blowhards refused to look at that data. That's not factored in anywhere . The next data point is whether or not the vaccine prevents severe illness, that's the data point where I think it's positive. When you see 21,000 people test positive in a single day, it's really really hard not to think most of the country hasn't had it already.
The mask mandate wasn't built on a proper medical trial or study........plenty of doctors/scientists have flagged that and plenty have been taken off formal distribution channels like YouTube, Twitter, Faceook etc. Peer reviews in science aren't always the right outcome, just ask Einstein about Relative Theory when you reach heaven. Also, don't confuse environmental "scientists" with actual meteorological science. Two different things with two different motivations and if you really want to get a better understanding, track funding of think tanks, science groups, science related non-profits, health groups etc. I think you'd be shocked to see where the money flows from and why there might be quid pro quo/balance of trade influence.
