Brotha...I agree to an extent. We all seen head to head matches have no barring on recruiting what so ever. Heck we could lose to Wisconsin this year and still make the BIG10 champ game....just saying is all. I do agree, we need to get those wins going against them but I disagree about it effecting recruiting.
I'll give you that, good point. I guess I'm just of the mindset that the more games we win on a higher stage, and the more nationally relevant we become, will increase the attractiveness of Lincoln to higher quality prospects and more of them.

Back-to-back 4-8 seasons does affect recruiting though.

Agree, if head to head matches were the deciding factor, then Michigan State would have out recruited Michigan the last ten years. The fact is the history at Michigan is much better than the history/tradition of MSU.

During at least the last recruiting cycle there was a lot of server space taken up with posts and replies on how NU wasn't going anywhere living on 5.6 3* commits. Reed and future Domer Watts are 5.6 3*s. Where are the "we can do better" posts?
Here! :D

What are the odds this is a situation of "his heart being in Lincoln" but "his family wants him in Madison"? What are the odds of a flip here?

Possible, but not probable, I would say less than 5% chance, and that’s being generous. Of course, I’d love to see it happen.

Biggest difference is Watts is a local kid. I could not really care less about Reed.

Not to badly...we pulled off a top 15 recruiting class. But I get your point, if we keep that up we won’t get classes like that again. But I’m not worried at all....not at all. Frost won’t continue having 4-8s. Believe that. So we can move on from those comments.

Protect the border and all, I get it. Just not going to lose any sleep if he chooses Touchdown Jesus.

Me neither, you asked why there was people upset over these two 3 stars, when last year people were not wanting this level of player. I believe Watts is because he is an instate kid. I have no idea why on Reed, other than the fact that it seems he was high on Frost's list. There are plenty of LBs that have the same ability, IMHO

I am with you in thinking Frost isn't going to continue the 4-8 streak. However, like anything else in this world, it's time to produce and gain some attention. All the talk is cheap. I think this is an important year for Frost and Co. Too many holes and soft spots on the O and the D is clearly in "show me" mode. Until shown otherwise we ARE a 4-8 team. Unfortunately

Reed is projected to ILB. If Kaden Johnson signs, we will have a total of 15 scholarship linebackers when this class arrives in campus. Pretty standard.

Kaden Johnson isn't coming to NU (believe Wisconsin leafs for him as well)

Cody Simon is down to Nebraska, OSU and PSU. He’s interested in potentially playing early. So despite CB’s discounting Nebraska, that’d be a big win. Think he wants to wrap it up before season starts.

Blaise Gunnerson OLB/DE hopefully is ours- not sure what’s up with Kaden Johnson- and that Choe Bryant-Strother looks like a solid middle piece we got a chance with.

To clarify, he said in an interview he was ready to commit to UW during his official, but Chryst told him to enjoy all the officials he had scheduled.

Oh the Huskers backed off and didn’t want him because we wanted him to play OLB and he wanted to play ILB only...;)

See how stupid that sounds bro....like you claiming Wisconsin suddenly didn’t want Hutmacher after he picks the Huskers...lol

If you'd get out of your emotions you'd see that I stated UW wanted Nash the entire time. I said they wanted him as an OL but he eventually declared himself as a DL, and UW was fine with that. Notice any trends in these excerpts from 2018?

One of Wisconsin's top targets in 2020, Chamberlain (S.D.) offensive tackle Nash Hutmacher made the trip to Madison for UW's 41-24 win over Nebraska on Saturday.

....

Assistant coach Bob Bostad is the lead recruiter for the four-star offensive tackle.

...

NASH HUTMACHER Wisconsin offered the South Dakota native at camp. Nash Hutmacher has other early offers from Nebraska, Iowa State, and Missouri. He checks in as the nation's No. 33 ranked offensive tackle per 247sports.

Ok...? He makes a great prospect out on the Oline and Dline. That’s why he’s rated a 4 star. First step is getting the commitment and second step is the signature. After that Frost and company will get him in position that best fits his potential and helps get him to the NFL. And let’s do apples to apples comparison. Let’s say he picked Wisconsin and I go to the Badgers board and I’m knocking him and repeating everything your saying here...how do you think your Badger fans would respond??? I bet anything they’d be responding the same way the Huskers are responding to you now. It would look like I’m a butt hurt Husker fan because he picked Wisconsin and not my Huskers. So see it from both sides.

And I'd be on you side on the Badger board. You take any criticism of the kid as a 'knock'...he's a high 3* composite DL. Should I pull up HUDL of 4* composite DL to show you the difference and why my criticism isn't 'a knock' but an honest opinion? I'd say the same thing on my own board and would hope he switched to OL.

Bull crap. All the crap you been saying about Hutmacher since he picked the Huskers and if I was knocking the man like you have been...no way you’d back me. Wow you can’t man up and admit to it. I get it. Here is one quote from you...see how it sounds to you...doesn’t sound like your saying Wisconsin wanted him “Ideally you move him to OG or center; Wisconsin was recruiting him at OL til he said he was DL only. Just watch how he moves”

And I know what composite ranking is. It’s combined ranked between all recruiting sites. 24/7 has him as 90 ranked 4 star DT-OG and Rivals has him as 5.6 3 star DT. And that’s why his composite is a .8778 ranking making him board line 4 star-3 star composite ranking. Rivals 5.6 ranking just knocks him out of the 4 star composite ranking. Edited.... 0.88 is a 4 star composite ranking...that tells you how close COMPOSITE wise he was to a 4 star. Rivals 5.6 ranking kept him from that.

Let’s play it this way. Thanks for YOUR opinion on the young man. Just don’t take it personally that none of us Huskers agree with it. Two: I’m plenty confident Scott Frost will put Hutmacher at his best position if it’s DT, OG, or OT. But Huskers having Turner Corcoran and Bryce Benhart at OT...id have to say dude would play OG if not DT. So with that said...as a Husker fan...the future is bright...GBR
