Lot's of UK fans jumped on the Pitino bandwagon with the Celtics. They haven't had much success since Larry Bird tho.
Celtics have pretty strong UK/kentucky boy ties. Frank Ramsey, Rondo, Lou T, Walker, Delk, Mercer, another guy was drafted by them from caverna HS, Pitino. They kinda got screwed when their 2 superstars both died in the early 90s. Of course losing both of them during a transition period where the OG big 3 was aging off along with Pitino taking over was the death blow for them that decade.

Fair enough! They've been a huge disappointment in my life time (29) outside of that 1 Chip against my Lakers.

Yeah LA gets players from being in LA. Players naturally wanna come to that place. Boston has to draft and build their teams. Lol, not even a boston fan but I don’t hate them. Too many KY ties. Forgot they also got Wayne Turner and Reggie Hansen too.

I get players want to live in LA... but all I heard growing up was that players want to play for elite franchises or huge markets... (Knicks, Celtics)

Think at some point you have to start blaming the organization.

The C’s lost their 2 big pieces to lead them through the 90s/early 2000s after the big 3 of the 80s left. I mean if you have a roster of Reggie Lewis, Len Bias, Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker, you got a contender. After they died the Celtics were bad for a while but they bounced back. A title in 2008 and multiple ECF appearances the last decade.

Monk had a cocaine problem in Charlotte. It's why the Hornets didn't extend him a qualifying offer. I hope he stays away from it in LA.

Boston's issues are simply one person's fault. Danny Ainge. He collected a treasure trove of picks and did nothing with them. Add to the situation that he was very hard, almost impossible to trade with, and having all of those picks was / are worthless. He built a lineup of too many wings and a score first, high volume shooting PG that got no one involved in the office. Al Horford was a very good center, but did not fit "todays" NBA, and their team defense left a lot to be desired. Tons of one on one ISO ball and with the lack of size, rebounding being a negative. But the biggest issue was Danny Ainge stockpiling all of the picks they acquired like it was currency and if he held onto them they would draw interest, LOL. While Tatum is a very nice player and will only get even better, they do not have a true dominate superstar to put the team on his back and carry them. Roster made up of good and a couple very good players, but not an Elite superstar. So in truth, it is not the Boston market, all though there was a couple FA's who did not sign because of Boston's bad rep. but the main reason was Ainge not being aggressive enough and always trying to "hold all the cards" and win every transaction.

Lakers are going to need to score 150 a night because no one on that roster other than Davis is a defender.

Who knows though? With all that talent, they may actually get to 150 many nights.

PG - Westbrook / Kendrick Nunn
2G - Ellington / Horton-Tucker / Monk
SF - LBJ / Bazemore / Ariza
PF - AD / Melo
C - Gasol / Howard

Old, but lots of flexibility with several different lineups. (AD at C / PF, Melo SF / PF, Horton-Tucker 2G / SF, LBJ SF / PF / PG, Monk 2G / SF

Ellington, Melo, Nunn, Monk, and Melo are good / above average 3 point shooters. Nunn is a very solid young guard that is getting better and better, strong playmaker and has really improved his range, no slouch from 3.

Davis is going to play at least half his minutes at center this year, they can't rely on Gasol/Howard for more than 15mpg each and against some opponents (especially in playoffs) even less.

edit: And, thinking of what that means, you're gonna have to see Lebron at PF part time.

If Gasol and Howard play 15 mpg each, 15 x 2 = 30 minutes. That would only leave AD playing center for 18 minutes, IF he switches to center all of the time both are out. I do not see him playing 18 mpg at center, the Lakers know his best and less strenuous position is PF. They are going to do everything possible to keep him healthy for the whole year, he will not play at the 5 unless he absolutely has to (foul trouble / injury). Lakers brass are not stupid, they know it would be a better outcome to lose a few more games by having below average center play during the regular season and have a healthy AD for the playoffs than to have him play center and get injured and maybe not even play during the end of the season. Gasol and Howard will man the 5, AD the 4, it is the only way the Lakers have a shot at being champs. Now come the playoffs, all bets are off.

I've been seeing articles that the Lakers and Davis expect him to play the 5 more this year. Here's one. Unless they're adding another guy to play at the 5, the roster as it stands doesn't have 48 minutes of center without a big chunk from Davis. I wouldn't be surprised at a Westbrook, Ellington/Nunn, Lebron, Melo, Davis starting 5.

That's a bad town to be in in if you cant stop partying and have a substance abuse issue.
It's why I was grimacing everytime I saw reports of the Lakers, Knicks, and Heat being interested in Monk. I would have preferred he end up somewhere like Utah.

So what happens in a game if lebron and Westbrook both have 9 assists...just passing back and forth for entire quarter demanding the other shoots
