Anyone know how his rehab is coming? I assume he's out this season?

He may be the single most under/mis-utilized player in recent history. I cannot understand why is isn't our feature RB. Instead he's some sort of WR hybrid. ...at 5'9 224.

I feel like I'm missing something.

I haven't heard, but I'm sure he's headed for a redshirt year. Dear was recruited primarily to play WR.

Maybe because he isn't a running back and doesn't want to be one?

Was mentioned on Out of Bounds this morning that Dan said he wasn't completely ruled out for this season. I think Sammon may have talked to him and asked him a few more questions.

I feel like he's an obvious RB and that he'd be a great one. ...but there are a lot of things I don't know like, for example, as you suggest that he may not WANT to be a RB.

Regardless, I think he's a playmaker. I'd love to see him get more touches. ...but he'll have to get healthy first.

1. Our RB depth is significantly better than our WR depth. We need him more at wideout.

2. He can still get carries on sweeps and out of the slot.

3. He could've been a better option for us at RB than Holloway or Shumphert, but he's not going to be a better option than Williams, Gibson, or probably even Hill.

per Mullen at SEC Media Days, he is coming along quickly. If he's health in the first third of the season they'll turn him loose, but I'm sure that's a big if.
