Really good read on the Lincoln East WR. Seems like a great kid with a ton of potential.

Was curious if schools were still streaming the playoff games like they did most of their regular season games. The Spartans take on Gretna tonight. Upset special and would love to see it on YouTube if available.
I am not a coach or a scout and am only going off what I see but I have watched him play for the last 3 years now. Seems like a good kid. He has been hot and cold on D. I think with some attention and the right coaching he could be a great receiver. East keeps him in at D end the full game. IMO he does not handle the run game very well, as he routinely gets pushed around when they come at him and struggles to maintain his contain. I have seen him shed a few blocks and with his long frame he can make some great plays by lunging at guys and bringing them down but its usually as he is being blown back off the ball. I think he could be coached up though. Overall I wish East would put someone else in there to plug up that side of the line, and hold the edge, bringing Malachi in on 3rd down passing situations where he can really let loose. He has been really good in that role.
I think where he has the most potential is at receiver. East is kind of stacked with seniors there right now so they don't use him exclusively, but in JV ball last year, he really stood out. He is fast. I think you will see his stats get better next year after East loses a couple of their senior guys. How this all translates to the next level, who knows. 6'4 receivers don't come around all that often.
