He's a Scout Team center. People who think he will ever be anything more are kidding themselves. Keep in mind a player like Reimer had 6 FCS scholarship offers. Wegner was recruited by schools like Missouri Western. WHile they are both walk-ons, they are not on even footing from a talent and athletic standpoint.
This is the second thread you and I have discussed Wegener. The last time I was sort of high on him signing and you said he would never play a meaningful snap in a game. I'm not "kidding myself" he will someday become a regular starter, he probably won't. On the other hand, he played center in only nine games one year and was the #1 JC center according to one source. So I don't think I can just dismiss him as not being a possible contributor in the future. Jared Tomich wasn't recruited by anybody, even to walk on.

Jared Tomich was recruited by everyone in the MAC.

Farniok and Wilson didn’t play as true freshman. They redshirted. And Wilson didn’t start til his sophomore year.

My bad, Matt Farniok played as REDSHIRT freshman. But Brenden Jaime’s DID play as a true freshman. Here’s quotes for Huskers.Com “Jaimes was one of only three true freshmen offensive linemen in the Big Ten to start every conference game in 2017, and he was an honorable-mention All-Freshman team selection by the Big Ten Network.” Wilson played some a freshman, but didn’t become full time starter till his sophomore year. The main point was guys are playing earlier and earlier these years compared to waiting years to start. Iowa’s tackle/s have played since true freshman year/s...that I know i was right about.

Do me a favor brotha and delete this post. I wasn’t actually meaning to post that yet anyways...if you look at it now I had a few things I was trying to fix on it to start with and accidentally sent it and before I had it edited you already commented on it. I’d really appreciate it my man. Thanks I’m in advanced.

You should have asked what he meant by "Thanks I'm in advanced" Advanced what?

This is a joke, please do not get in your feelings @huskerssalts

Alls good brotha...I planned on deleting that post to start with. Normally I’d went back and fixed it...my iPhone switched my “in” to a “I’m”. It was a simple error. All I ask is pretty please take that target off my back now...PLEASE?!?! We had a disagreement weeks ago. Time to move on brotha.

He stopped that linebacker from making a play on the ballcarrier, didn't he? That's all he has to do.

I think there playing earlier bc they have too, not bc the coaches want them too.

I think it better to skip the assumptions on which position group are going to be good or bad. The secondary was a supposed huge liability going into the season last year and was probably our strongest unit...and they didn't add any bodies except for freshman. We haven't had a "good enough" line in a long time because we haven't won anything in a long time... and although the line is important it isn't quite the penultimate position it used to be. A lineman might only hold a block for a second or 2 now, and might not be required to pancake guys, just get them off balance enough that one of the playmakers can get through the line or the ball can get out of AM without a bat down or sack. We are not going to be 3rd and long often, we aren't running 5 step drops, even short yardage isn't a straight power game anymore with 5 play-makers on the field...and giving the ball to a back and wearing out the defense isn't our style...our style is pace and maximum plays combined with turnovers and by the 4th the defense has been on the field for 100 plays...TOP doesn't matter and the physicality of the oline also isn't as important.

I liked the swarm tackling. When we have had good teams that was always a sign, the opponent Getting hit be 2-3 guys at the same time. This is 100% improvement from the Riley days.

Oh at least 100% improvement from the Smiling Mike days.
