Was terrific tonight. Played with energy on both sides of the ball ; scored 12 points and was a plus 14. Super nice kid and hopefully he commences his ascension to being a real good player

You beat me to starting this thread. Mawot is a really good player and I think he will blow up, with a little time. High energy, strong D and he is very confident on O.

Love the kid!!!

I hope this gives him the confidence going forward, because he played really well especially in the first half.

Mag is a freakish athlete and is becoming very smooth with his shooting touch. Would not be shocking to see him in the NBA someday if he becomes a consistent three-point and pull-up-two shooter. Has already shown the ability to finish around the rim. Doesn’t seem to have a polished handle/assist game yet either, but he is so very young.

I see Mawot developing very quickly. He is a major contributor this year.

Seeing the same trajectory for Mag as we saw with Eugene. Fits and starts as a true freshman, but starting to emerge as a sophomore.

Kid is a SUPER athlete, a great defender, and now is starting to develop as a smooth shooter.

The thread comparing next year’s roster to Pike’s first one won’t age well. RHJ going to be a big loss and we know we need to add a competent big to complement Cliff. The back ups we have aren’t good enough.

But there’s no reason not to expect Caleb back and a defensive combo of Caleb, Mag and Miller will be very solid. Add a few pieces and there’s every reason to have hope next year’s team can be very good.

I admit Mawot proved me wrong today. Preseason Pike was touting Mag as a great defender. What I saw was a willing defender but not effective. This game Mag brought it both defensively and on offense. Definitely deserves all the accolades after this performance.

Count me in as a Mag guy. I think he is a player. It's early on but I think he is going to be a very good player for us and have a very solid career here. He's very athletic, plays very hard on the defensive side and he can shoot. Additionally, from what Pike says and what we can discern seems like a great kid with a great team attitude. I like him a lot.

ZERO TURNOVERS.

Only player in starting lineup with 0 as well.
that’s the that jumped out to me. Really saw some flashes last year with his speed. Glad he made an impact yesterday

Mag really has impressed in his time with regards to his poise and understanding what his strengths are and playing to them. He might be the best cutter we have seen on this banks in several years, whether it is the baseline or to the mid range shot. His energy and athletic ability to rebound as a guard along with his defense will keep him as a fan favorite. As his offensive game grows (btw I like his shot), he is going to be a big piece of this team going forward whether it be in the starting 5 or our 6th man off the bench.

This is it. We saw, for the 1st time all year, a defensive lineup that was above average.

Hopefully we see the incremental improvements that Mag currently shows with Jones and Hyatt. I’m sure we will and if so team will be fully clicking

Team may go 10 Deep the rest of the way. Or, 9 based on who is playing the best amongst Jones, Hyatt and Mag. This team will need Miller's ball pressure.

Miller
Jones
Hyatt
Mag

Mawot Mag - my signature says it all. Under-recruited willing to embrace the challenge....same with defensive pit bull Jalen Miller.

He should start again…it’s just the energy he brings to the team that helps ignite us. Similar with Miller with his defense…we need that spark!!
I think Geo should be first off the bench
