Huh? Nobody was optimistic when Pike first reported that he feels for Mag and he would see a doctor Sunday. Didn’t sound good at all.

Fast forward to Monday - him saying Mag will be out for a bit (following that doctor visit) rather than an announcement that he’s done for the season sure seems like net positive to me.

The question is…would Pike say he’s out for the season, even if he knows that to be true?…he never shares much injury info at all.

If it’s known now that he needs surgery a) that would have been scheduled immediately and b) would not be kept closed lip.

Sometimes Initial inflammation can make it difficult to tell the extent of injuries up front. That’s always a possibility. Nobody is saying he’ll definitely be back this year but if it was known for sure that he can’t return he’d be having surgery and there would have been an announcement. Short of this, we won’t hear much. Just like with Caleb.

If Mag misses the rest of the regular season, fitness and rust are still a concern if his first game back is the NCAA tournament

agreed if he needed season ending surgery then it would be known already; I am thinking ACL or PCL sprain which is probably what Caleb had; we just have to hang on I believe til the end of the season and maybe he can return for the BIG or NCAA tournament;
PS if it was an ACL tear they know immediately just by doing a few basic tests with the knee

Every case is different with ACL sprains. The return time from that injury is all over the map. Just like with Caleb, Pike probably won’t know until he’s cleared.

Complete rumor at this point but someone posted on TOS that a former player said it's an ACL

Ill take multiple games... that's great news given he could have missed rest of the season...
Who know's maybe this will help us in the long run because others will need to step up now. Make our bench stronger from this...?

Now someone posted that it will be "a few games" which would be amazing news and best case scenario

I'm going crazy over here trying to figure out how bad this injury is lol
