MC beat Page County tonight 76-75 to improve to 10-0 on the season. It was an exciting game in front of a great crowd. Isiah Smith led the Mountaineers with 24 points including the game winning lay-up after getting a steal on defense. Page had 3 shots in the games final seconds but a Dalton Taylor rebound ended the game. Dre Twyman came up huge again with 20 points and Taylor added 13. Madison gets back into their district schedule on Tuesday January 5th at Warren County.

MC lead by 7 at the half and slowly built a 14 point lead early in the fourth. That is when Page's coach just freaked out on the sideline, throwing his tie, knocking over a chair and just made a spectacle of himself. He was "T'ed" up for his antics. And he got what he wanted. The next 6 fouls called were against MC and Page clawed back into the game and took a 3 point lead. Enter Isiah Smith. He drove to the basket multiple times and finished despite heavy contact. Page had a chance to re-take the lead with about 7 seconds left but came up short and MC got the rebound and ran out the clock.

Foul shooting has been a problem for Page at times this year, how did they do at the line tonight..and congrats to Madison on taking the season series from Page...sounds like it was a nail biter

Page shot well from the FT line. MC did not. What was a fairly routine affair turned into a very exciting game in the 4th quarter. A very large crowd added to the atmosphere. It is pretty difficult to run the table v. Page, ER and Luray so hopefully this young MC team will be ready for the BRD.

I like Page's team. I think they are the best I have seen MC play this year. But their coach just goes so overboard sometimes that it detracts from the team. But he gets results.

Overboard is an understatement. The refs were very lenient with him, especially after the technical was called and he stood on the court yelling at the one younger ref. Taylor stood at the free throw line at least five minutes waiting for the refs to let him shoot the free throws while the coach ranted. I get theatrics but he went way too far.
