Knowing that Biff went against the wisdom of Mattis and common wisdom in general, I wonder if Biff’s pool of willing candidates to replace him plummeted.

I'd bet he'll have a decent pool of qualified people to choose from. Plenty of great people out there willing to take one for the country. Whether he picks a qualified choice or not is up for debate.

Sure would be great if he and Nikki primaried Trump.

There has been a lot of bad days for America in the Trump era. This is the worst so far. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure there will be even worse days now.

Mattis represented a tested core of foreign policy ideals that have been carved from our successes and failures during his career. His approach was dead on. And he left because Biff decided to just stir the pot for no good reason. Withdrawing troops from Syria was the last straw. I don’t see how any general would want to deal with Biff knowing that the best of them walked off the job with good reason.
