Honestly, who makes the decision on our logo use? The school or adidas? And who do we need to talk to to plead our case on incorporating the baseball logo into our football uniforms?
Great question. If the entire argument against using the old Sherrill-era MSU logo on the helmets is because "Nike owns it," then there's no similar argument against using the baseball stacked MS logo. We own it, and the design requires no updating.
The other argument against stacked MS on the helmets is that the university paid consultants a bunch of money a decade ago to come up with the modernized flying M-State--the basketball logo--so now we're somehow obligated to use that POS logo because, well, we like to throw good money after bad, to prove our commitment to that idea.
How does using the stacked MS "baseball logo" on the football helmets *preclude* or limit the university from continuing to use the M-state logo everywhere else--BASKETBALL, track, the stadium branding, university letterheads, official graphics, etc?
It's a dumb argument.
Last but not least, for the people who argue that the bluebloods don't change their uniforms as frequently as we do, or have "classic" uniforms that don't require frequent updates and modernizations--the stacked MS "baseball logo" is the simplest, longest-running, and most recognizable logo we have in all athletics or otherwise.
