If duke could get the dj Jones's of the world who have this vision of being a star at unc they could have a solid squad. Duke offered Jones late and he would be splitting time with Durant because duke is going to kill him. I get the whole unc thing but if you are a 3 star kid and the depth chart is loaded wake and duke are better options if you can get into school. I think for the most part kids that all of those schools recruit in state can get in. I look at the defensive kid from Leesville. I might be wrong but I don't see him playing at unc any time soon. At duke he is playing and maybe starting his sophomore year. I doubt he sees the field at unc until he is a junior. Again unc problem is more about preparation than talent. Some of those kids are going to be really good players but something is missing from the squad this year.
Kid from Leesville will get a shot to play early as they're thin at the OLB spot. If you asked me a year/2 ago, when he was 205 pounds, I would say otherwise but he added a ton of weight during the off season, increased his maximum weight on bench presses and squats by 100 pounds each and is about 250 pounds now.
Some of it is preparation, sure. But when you're missing tackles, committing false starts/holding, not beating your man, not getting separation, dropping balls etc as 3rd/4th/5th year players, gotta look at yourself in the mirror.
Yes, some of those kids are going to be really good players.....when/if they see the field.
