Asheville at Erwin (Thursday tv game)

What do you guys think?

My picks.....

TCR 42 Enka 7....TCR is a solid team and will be way too much for Enka to handle. The Jets are ready to hear them balls bouncing.

ACR 62 NB 3....Running clock in this one. Nothing to talk about.

Erwin 42 Asheville 35....Definitely the best game in the MAC this week. I have heard that Asheville is not the typical Asheville this year but they are still Asheville and will always have more athletes than any other team in WNC. Both teams are pass heavy so it should be a high scoring game. The key for Erwin is their defense. Can they step up and make some stops? Our offense will get theirs as usual but they need some help. A lot depends on Damien Ferguson and how much he has healed from his injury. As for Asheville I don't know a ton about them. I know they have a good qb and a very good receiver. I know they have a very good D1 defensive player as well. What can you guys tell me? How good is Asheville's secondary? Any secrets over there? With this game on tv I just feel like Asheville will give 100% no matter what type of year they are having.

If Asheville does not kill themselves with penalties and turn overs it should be a good game. Both sides of the ball seems to improving at the right time. Should be a hell of a game.

ACR......pick your number, I see JVs playing lots in second half
Erwin.....by 14, assuming Ferguson is as healthy as they claim, if not Asheville's defense can cause problems.

I know you're trying to build us up and hype this game up, but this is the least talented senior class in well over a decade. Can we win? Yes, but we will be a heavy underdog to a team that is 6-4. Thats not typical of Asheville at all.

BD, you are crazy if you think this Asheville team is the most athletic in WNC. Asheville can win this game, but can't turn the ball over and have a lot of penalties. A lot will depend on Ferguson's health. I will say Asheville's defense has played well throughout conference, will be interesting to see how they hold up against Erwin. Ultimately I have to go with Erwin in this one, 35-28. If Asheville loses this one, it will likely be the first losing season in 30 years for the Cougars...

Roberson and Reynolds by as many as they want.

ACR AND TCR BOTH WINNING BIG i think the erwin asheville game could be a surprise. if the leota kid has a great night and erwins qb is off from the injury a little i think asheville could win this game.that kid is mostly unstoppable rushing the passer.im goin against the odds but im picking asheville to win and upset the warriors in a close game. cougars 34 warriors 27

There is no doubt that Asheville is down a little but it is not like they are Enka or something. It is a win win for the Cougars Thursday because if they win everyone will sing their praises and if they lose their fans will just bring up how terrible the team is even though they are clearly not. Erwin may be 6-4 but with a normal schedule like everyone else around wnc they would likely be a one or two loss team at the worst so you can't take those little digs at them too much ahs1. That being said I hope for a injury free game and things to be civil on here for once. I am not a big fan of these Thursday games. I think being on tv is cool and all but I think it puts added pressure on the kids out there. Also, football is supposed to be on a Friday night. Just doesn't feel right going to work the next day. lol

I don't know what you're smoking but don't believe the hype. Who cares what the papers say but in the minds of the players Asheville will not be an underdog. Trust and believe we will be coming after Ferguson. No body from Erwin can block 51 and I promise you that will a problem all night. Not sure how a victory over Erwin will ever be a surprise. Last time I checked Asheville and Reynolds are still the top dogs in the conference. Just add up the conference titles. The reality is Erwin has not won anything and that is a fact. If Erwin is not prepared they will get busted in the mouth.

Wow, you are one dumb sob! I was actually praising Asheville in all my posts. It was Asheville fans downing their own team as they have all season. I don't give a rats *** about what happened years ago. Right now Erwin is on par with either team you mentioned. I have been civil with all the Asheville fans on here this season and I wont let you bait me in to the same old tired debates!

You might want to watch your mouth BD. Erwin is not on any level. Last time I checked you are judged by championships. How many does Erwin have? You can say whatever. On November 6, Friday 2015 Erwin defeated Asheville High 20-6. I believe this game was at your home. Erwin has won the last 3 out of 5 games played. So come on over and see if your cooogars can redeem themselves. Put up or shut up cougar1975.

Don't buy in to this guy ceingle. The best thing to do is ignore him. None of the Asheville fans on here except him have bashed Erwin. I am about 99% sure that he is the same douchebag that was on here last year under a different name. Refresh my memory, what was that guys name again?

I took a quick glance back at the posst from last year. Ladies and gents let me introduce cougar1975 formerly known as cqajdd...lol. I knew I had seen this jackass on here before. Their posts are identical. He is obsessed with Erwin and slams his other Cougar fans for criticizing their own team. It is good to have you back ol buddy. That Erwin game must have really hurt last season because you vanished quicker than a Hillary voter at a job fair!

I agree. We need him at full capacity. I hope he doesn't wear those stupid gloves again either. Why would a coach even let a qb do that? You can tell it throws him off some.

The Asheville coaches did have a good game plan, but does Erwin have a weight program? seriously, im not trying to be a di*k but Erwins players look like they havent touched a weight in 2 years. Granted they kicked our *** last year but still.

Who knows. Erwin has 18 points with a min left in the game and I have heard about how incredible this offense was since August. I just don't see it and our defense ain't all that. We played well tonight but I just don't see how in the hell this team had a 380 yard receiver 650 yard passed in one game.

Well Ahscougar1 you made it all year without being one but you're still a dickhead as usual. Neither team will do jack in the playoffs. This game was 18-17 late in the 3rd and Asheville does what Asheville does best, trick plays. Two in a row. Unfortunately that crap works sometimes. As for Ferguson, he lit you up last season and was playing with an injury tonight. Probably the worst game he has played all season. Anyways, to all the Cougar fans on here other than AHS congrats! You guys have been very humble and it's been fun posting on this board over the years. I wish all the mtn teams good luck in the playoffs this year but let's face it, little 1A is the only chance we have at a title. It's just really weak in that division statewide most every year.

I tell you what, David Burdette is a players coach. Players love playing for him. A very high energy guy.
