We can't all hit the lottery in our raising man. Your folks did ok, I've seen worse.

My dad had to go into the Military when he was 18 because of the war. He was recruited by many D1 programs including UK out of high school.

He doesn't like talking about it much, it really effected him. That's why I have trouble empathizing with these spoiled and coddled athletes today. All you have to do is shut up and play basketball for one year - you get to live the dreams of others, then go pro and make as much as you want.

And people cant even agree on that without thinking they deserve even more.

They don't.

Same thing happened with my dad, he got his papers and then shortly after he was called up by the Cardinals. If I remember right it was the next day .
