I see you changed the yardage, but not the carries and passing yards. Thanks for correcting.Had 516 rushing vs Draughn
got it now thanks!I see you changed the yardage, but not the carries and passing yards. Thanks for correcting.
What are your thoughts on the stats? This is updated!
That's one issue the Mitchell had last year offensively instead of throwing some new wrinkles in which I believe they had the players to do that but instead of involving those players with some more plays the play calling became even more one dimensional then it already was. So even though Mitchell had the bigger line it was speed they hadn't seen all year and Tarboro just keyed on the QB and was in the backfield sometimes before he could get to the line scrimmage. Not saying Mitchell could have won but the offense with more imaginative play calling could have possibly moved the ball better. The old saying still stands true. Stick to what got you here !! BUT your play calling has to keep the defense on its heels by keeping them off balance. Every good Coach should be able to throw a few wrinkles or have something up their sleeves to achieve that. This should be a great game and I can’t wait to watch from the comfort of my home![]()
MA had 516 rushing Friday night.....that wasnt n stokes. And Draughn loaded the box all night.Don’t think Ma will be breaking off those long runs like they do against Alleghany, North Stokes. Tarboro will be a faster team at most positions and stout in the trenches. Mason is good but MA is very strong up front and opens gigantic holes. I’ll be interested to see what Mason can do against a defense that won’t give him those wide open spaces to run straight.
I think they should have alternatives ready and I think they will if the run game is not getting it done as much as they would like. I don’t think Tarboro will shut down the bear run game however. I do believe the bears should keep Tarboro on their heels by mixing up the plays they have. If we find something that is working against them, we need to keep doing it until they can stop it and not get away from it.That's one issue the Mitchell had last year offensively instead of throwing some new wrinkles in which I believe they had the players to do that but instead of involving those players with some more plays the play calling became even more one dimensional then it already was. So while the Mt Airy team speed may be better than Mitchell's last year if Tarboro D has the speed they had last year while MH can't get completely away from their personality I believe they should put in some more wrinkles in the passing game and it doesn't have to be booms down field just some short stuff maybe something that Tarboro hasn't seen them consistently do.
Have you seen the highlights of the Andrews (#1 Seed in West) and Draughn (#6 Seed in West) games? That would be the 4th and 5th round playoff games. The last 3 Touchdowns against Eastern Randolph were 2 plays, 2 plays and 1 play.Don’t think Ma will be breaking off those long runs like they do against Alleghany, North Stokes. Would you say the same about Tarboros offense or is it your opinion that Mount Airy has the defense and speed to prevent Tarboro from having long runs?Have you seen the highlights of the Andrews (#1 Seed in West) and Draughn (#6 Seed in West) games? I do not believe those two teams got to those games because they were weak or slow or not talented.
Mt Airy may not have any long runs come Saturday, but if they do not, it will be because a very good Tarboro team has hit the portal for some D1 or D2 lineman and their back field defenders should go ahead and move to Colorado Springs and start training for the US Olympic Track and Field teams.
Illunminati 704 is a pure pot stirrer. And says things that are just plan stupid.

If you don't know much about Tarboro, then how could you say in your previous post that the only way Tarboro could prevent Mount Airy from breaking long runs was if they hit the portal for D1, D2 lineman, and olympian defensive backs?I do not know much about Tarboro except they are in the State Championship, not because they won against the weakest on their schedule but rather because the won against the best. Just as Mt Airy has. I am looking forward to the game Saturday and seeing which of two excellent teams can accomplish their goal. Both teams deserve respect and should not be disrespected by idiots that get their kicks by making completely stupid putdown remarks.
I have read a lot of the post that talk about Tarboro's line and speed. I do not know it first hand, but I can and do read. I have nothing but respect for Tarboro. But I have seen Mt Airy's players and, as I have said a couple dozen times on NCPreps, I always compare these players against the 3a and 4a teams that I get to see also.If you don't know much about Tarboro, then how could you say in your previous post that the only way Tarboro could prevent Mount Airy from breaking long runs was if they hit the portal for D1, D2 lineman, and olympian defensive backs?
I'm sure they have his attention. That defense is fun to watchTarboro Coach Jeff Craddock stated interview from WRAL. They will have their hands full with MT Airy.
If your strength is running the ball you can't just start throwing every other playSpeed doesn't beat experience. You don't get there as many times and win as many times as Tarboro has by dumb luck. If the bears can't get a passing game going Tarboro will win. The way to neutralize speed is to put it on its back. It may be a shoot out but I'd say Tarboro by at least 7. They're still the kings till they are knocked off. Their record speaks volumes. They are no flash in the pan, one hit wonder, once in a million team. Tried, true and dependable year in and year out.

Absolutely no dig at Mitchell, but how did that work out?If your strength is running the ball you can't just start throwing every other play
For run heavy oriented like Tarboro. You pass the ball when you want to. Not when you have toIf your strength is running the ball you can't just start throwing every other play
Mitchell was not much of a threat to pass. Mt Airy has receivers that will get attention or get burnt. I would probably have a bubble screen or two on standby since Tarboro had trouble with it.Absolutely no dig at Mitchell, but how did that work out?
Man you need to get a grip. People are just giving unbiased opinions about two great teams. No one is hating on either team and are just giving their personal views about the upcoming game. The best way to turn other fans against your team is how you react to their honest opinions. Usually the West will back the West and the East the East. Just enjoy the moment without thinking every comment is a knock on your team.I do not know much about Tarboro except they are in the State Championship, not because they won against the weakest on their schedule but rather because the won against the best. 2019, the year of the tunnel screen and some pretty quick recivers. In our other times playing them, we ran what we brung but we didn't bring enough.Mitchell was not much of a threat to pass.
