1st of all, stop hiding your games. You're not getting a tactical advantage.
Earlier this year I happened across a stat that was almost unbelievable. It said that Lyons had won 15 of the last 16 games against 7A powerhouse Downers Grove North. That stat is now 15 of 17 as Lyons dropped a 17-10 decision to the Trojans. Lyons also fell to 7A behemoth GBW, and Giant Slayer York by 2 points. York also defeated the two 7A favorites. Did I mention Lyons also defeated the incomparable WWS, yes the same WWS that just unceremoniously dispatched of a top CCL team 38-7. That CCL team nearly pitched a shutout against IC, allowing only 6 point. Who else did Lyons beat? Barrington, who is still alive in these playoffs after defeating Sandburg on the road. The same Sandburg that toppled 4A favorite Montini who was riding a 29 game win streak at the time. Another head on the Lyon's mantle, Hinsdale Central who many believe will send #1 LWE home this weekend. What is clear is that once you go past a superficial glance at schedules and results Lyons is standing tall.
I took a look at the tape and the QB and RB have speed to burn. They look like the Flash racing Superman and I don't know which is which. Pick your poison. Against Barrington, WWS, DGN, York, and OPRF they've given up an average of 14 ppg, well under their averages. And they've been doing it with a big strong and tough 3 man defensive front. Last week the Lions put up 55 on the road. So after I viewed the tape to confirm what the numbers were telling me I went over to very reliable Massey predictions, Massey has Lyons as the favorite to win and that was the final bit of evidence I needed to conclude what should be obvious to the onlookers.
Lyons is the favorite to move on to the quarter-finals and face the winner of NN at Oswego.
