It’s a joke about the fact that people complain to her constantly about fixing Blackjack Road... but it’s not in the city limits so there’s literally nothing she can do about it.

She is constantly having to respond to people on Twitter complaining to her about the condition of BlackJack road. That road is outside city limits, thus there is nothing they mayor of Starkville can do to improve it. It's 100% on the county to fix.

I mean, not really. She can certainly ask the county board of supervisors to look at it and I'd be willing to bet she has. But I'm also willing to bet that they already know it's an issue. Board president Orlando Trainer might have gone to Ole Miss but he's not a dumb guy.

That's what I mean about influence. She can't do anything directly about it, but her constituency is impacted every day. She'd be better served publicly lobbying the county board about it relentlessly instead of constantly telling people it's not her problem.

The T-shirt stuff is fun and isn’t going to hurt her at all. The people it won’t do favors with are already not going to vote for her (Old white men).

Asking the board and publicly lobbying may not help that much. The county doesn’t want to look like it just does what the city tells it to do.

The county has been held up 2+ years by homeowners and mainly the apartments on Blackjack (Aspen Heights, The Pointe, Campus Trails, Helix) and their refusal to give up easements so the road can be widened and paved. They got the final easement a few weeks ago and the money has been there the whole time so hopefully it will go quickly now. Uninformed people have been hammering her almost daily about it and it's not her project. I don't care for her but she's not at fault here
