It's funny that when a coach says this it's awesome and he's all for the tough road and earning a title yet all everyone in here does is complain about the seeding.

I think the message that a coach (specifically one in the middle of a playoff run) sends needs to be different from fans. Nothing he can do about it now so no need to harp on it.

Agree. My comment was based more on people's reaction to his comment than the comment itself.

Yes. Once holecek retired he became the best HC. Check his record against J holly ;).
3-3 with a slight *. Beat him in 2018, 2019, and 2022. L in Spring 2021 (there is the slight * as this MC team was missing so many due to the COVID fallout) Fall 2021 and 2023.

Loyola would’ve beat any team in the state that year. Best team they’ve ever had including 2015. Didn’t matter who MC was missing. Unfortunately, they got screwed by an incompetent IHSA(what’s new?)

You’re right, let me add lake county. It’s not that far from Frankfort. Only a few counties away.
Aboout 15 years ago, MC had a student from North chicago - not an athlete, just a kid who wanted to be part of the MC culture. He took a hour-plus train trip downtown, walked all the way acrosss the Loop, and then got on a 25 minute train to Woodlawn. I thougt I had it bad taking three CTA busses to get to school. Not by a long shot.

BTW, please pardon all my typose. I have trouble seeing the screen to correct them. Yhanks.

I gotta call BS on this story. There's no chance the wheel was invented when you attended school. 😉

No doubt a good coach, but it's impressive when the hype machine has run so awry that an article where a man is quoted as saying "The road to state goes through us" also gets the maker celebrated by some on this thread as "humble."

There are a lot of positive attributes one can attribute to Lynch after reading that article: Fearless, competitive, spirited, etc.

Humble is not one of them.

Although I acknowledge I may be missing obvious sarcasm here....

I'm pretty sure I have heard this from about a dozen fan bases. Every school had the greatest team in the state during the Covid year.

You sound CRAZY!!

You talking about a heavy Junior class coming back after beating JJ McCarthy in state with Justin Lynch at QB , Odeluga RB/LB, Ben Perry, Jali Parker, Austin Haygood , Marty O’Brien and more dogs not even mentioned STOP IT!!!

Right! Virtually the same Carmel team that beat the same Loyola team 17-14 just a few months earlier.

But missing a few big pieces. Ben Perry moved to Louisville, and others moved on too.
