Of course he is more aggressive, he knows he is going to run the ball not throw it.

let’s not mistake it, Luke McCaffrey is only third string QB because they are planing on redshirting him. Those McCaffreys are straight up ballers. If Luke was starting at QB, I’d have complete faith in him. I’m whiling to bet he’s more dangerous with the ball in his hands then Martinez.

regardless, Luke McCaffrey will be to good not to have on the field starting next year after his redshirt. He will either be playing as a QB or a WR. One way or another, Frost will have to play him because he’s that type of talent and he’s to good not to play. Great problem to have.

Luke can tote it but he is a project in the passing department. Love how he plays smart and I love that he was so pissed about not getting that TD.

When does Smothers enroll? If he's coming in December it's gonna be an interesting off-season. That kid can FLY.
That Smothers kid has a very accurate arm possessing Taylor Martinez speed and not just North to South which is downright scary and deadly. I could see him beating out everyone in the QB room. His team runs a very similar offense as ours as well

He won't. AM will be the starter next year. Saying otherwise is just crazy talk.

McCaffrey has not spent a single drive yet in real game time where he had to stand there and make reads for an entire drive.
So your endless platitudes about how Nebraska will magically get better at multiple positions just because they’re going to magically get better at multiple positions - those make perfect sense, but the idea that McCaffrey or Smothers could displace Martinez is crazy talk. Got it.

Except for the time he did...

"Nebraska quarterback Noah Vedral left Saturday’s game against Indiana in the second quarter with an apparent ankle injury, so the Cornhuskers were forced to turn to true freshman quarterback Luke McCaffrey.

On his second drive after replacing Vedral at quarterback, McCaffrey led the Huskers down the field on a 6-play, 74-yard drive and capped it off with his first career touchdown pass, connecting with Kanawai Noa in the end zone for a 24-yard go-ahead score."

Wrong. The majority of the drive was done via the run. Video proof

McCaffrey has not taken the offense in a full drive the length of the field having to sit back in the pocket and make reads.

There is a reason why AM is the starter.

So he didn't make reads on either of the 2 passes? Got it. A third of the yardage on that drive came from one pass, but I supposed that doesn't count either.

I'm hopeful that AM can develop. He threw 3 horrible balls in the end zone against Maryland. One was picked, one got a lucky bounce for a TD to Spielman, The third was inexplicably dropped. Against any semi-competent defense they would have all been picked off.

I don't understand how, near the end of his second full year of starting, this is still happening.

Wow.....if he's as fast as TMart he's simply incredible. Holy Moly, we'll have THREE damn fine qbs.
