I just read the epistle that you decided to put out to the unwashed. It states plainly that the ESPN strength of record, BPI ranking, KPI, KenPom and Sagarin would all be considered n the final placement of teams. All that arguing and you didn't read your own info. Geez man.
What does that have to do with the top 25 polls? You're super emotional and forgot the whole point of this discussion. Poster said how are we ranked 10th and a 4 seed. My argument is because the selection committee does not use the AP or coaches polls. They simply do not consider them, you can argue that they do until you're blue in the face but they simply do not.

Isnt Sagarin a part of the selection recipe? In my ignorance I happened to notice that the sagarin ranking was a part of the final decision. Sagarin lists teams from1 thru whatever. Seems like a poll to me. What say you ****edflopsandsand? Time for you to apologize to jmw23712 don't you think.
Sagarin ratings seem like a poll? Well it's not, its a computer model that ranks teams using recrord, strength of schedule, scoring margin, and various statistics. A poll is where selected AP writers or NCAA coaches vote teams 1-25 and they're ranked 1-25 accordingly. The NCAA selection committee does not use either poll when seeding teams.

I believe that the 1 seeds are pretty much a given with Kansas, Baylor, San Diego State, and Gonzaga. The 2 seed now that Duke and UL losing we could still get a 2 seed if we finish strong and go either 5-0 or 4-1 and do well in SEC Tourney. It is probably a 3 seed hoping we can make it to a 2 Seed with a Strong Finish in regular season and in the SEC Tourney in Nashville.
San Diego State has 0% margin for error....if they lose a game and don’t go undefeated I think they drop to a #2 seed. Especially if Maryland wins out.

Again, if you go back and read my post, I never said the committee uses those polls. We're also all aware that they are still an indicator of rank. Have you ever seen a team finish the season #1 in the AP or Coaches poll and get a 4 seed? What about a team finishing out of the top 25 and getting a 3 seed? It doesn't happen. So again, I'm well aware that the committee uses their own arbitrary list of insignificant metrics because if they just used the coaches poll, then there would be no need for a committee.

So while I have been entertained by your condescending attitude and appreciate all of your enlightenment, my stance hasn't changed that a top 10 team in any poll shouldn't be a 4 seed.

Florida State was 10th in the Final AP poll and was a 4 seed just last year.

Just a FYI, the AP and Coaches polls are meaningless to the selection committee, they don't use them now and haven't as far as I can remember.
try this...this is what they "supposed" to use...

The selection committee has no real criteria. Their seeding is completely stupid most years and if they followed the polls, at least it would make more sense.
