Switched from quarterback to wide receiver for Rice.
Probably more appropriate to say I’m surprised he didn’t agree to play WR sooner.Seems like a good position for him. I’m surprised no one had tried that before.
Yep. And Frost was right to ask him to switch to WR. The kid is not a QB. What a wretched analyst of QB talent Harry Potter was. Kid should never have been recruited as a QB in the first place.Probably more appropriate to say I’m surprised he didn’t agree to play WR sooner.
He was asked to play WR. He refused and due to fact that he has transferred so much I assume if he ever wanted to see the field, he realized he wasnt cut out for QB at the college level despite what his family roots saySeems like a good position for him. I’m surprised no one had tried that before.

I suspect they lured him onto campus and planned to switch him over the whole time. But then I doubt that theory because they actually had him start games at quarterback! Cannot wait to see how our quarterbacks do under Mickey.Yep. And Frost was right to ask him to switch to WR. The kid is not a QB. What a wretched analyst of QB talent Harry Potter was. Very true. At the time, some said that it was not a bad idea to bring in an athlete NU may not normally get with the promise to let them try QB and then move them to a better suited position. It seemed to make sense. And that worked, I guess for Rice! But he was a few transfers in at that point.Yep. And Frost was right to ask him to switch to WR. The kid is not a QB. Is he the QB coach?I suspect they lured him onto campus and planned to switch him over the whole time. But then I doubt that theory because they actually had him start games at quarterback! Cannot wait to see how our quarterbacks do under Mickey.
Doesn't appear anyone on staff holds the title of QB coach anymore. Mickey's title includes "Passing Game Coordinator". Maybe someone more knowledgeable can explain the difference between Mickey's current role and Harry Potter's old one, if there is one.Is he the QB coach?

Well, Scott Frost decided who was recruited at QB and made those calls. Verduzco was a lackey to Frost in making those decisions and never had the final say.Yep. It's time for self promoting, I told you so, QB revisionist history. We have more threads on this board about former QBs than we do current QBs.
Just wait till Rutgers rolls past Wagner and Temple. We have more threads on this board about former QBs than we do current QBs.

"Oh what coulda been!!!"
And in one press conference Frost actually said that Luke was the "future" of the QB position at NebraskaI suspect they lured him onto campus and planned to switch him over the whole time. As a football player, and especially at QB, I was always bothered by the fact Luke slowed down into contact. Was it a CTE fear with him? Wonder why the aversion to being a great WR as opposed to a terrible QB

You'd have to ask the 20, 4* kids that left.water under the bridge but we go bowling in 2018 if Frost waits 7 more days to name a starter or decides both QBs will play against Akron
who knows how things would have played out having been to a bowl in season 1
How long did it take most of us to figure out the more Frost talked, the more he was proven full of ****?If memory serves, Frost effectively boxed himself in with that comment - something to the effect of "no doubt in my mind that Luke is the future at QB". Then a short time later Luke transfers so he can try and play QB. Weird all around.
Which would explain why he is trying to keep his mouth shut now because so far he can't back much of it up.How long did it take most of us to figure out the more Frost talked, the more he was proven full of ****?
He'd likely still like to be running his mouth, but he's blown his credibility, and I hope he knows it.Which would explain why he is trying to keep his mouth shut now because so far he can't back much of it up.
I can understand some fans wishing that Gebbia had stuck around. Not a world-beater, but he could complete a pass for more than 3 yards.water under the bridge but we go bowling in 2018 if Frost waits 7 more days to name a starter or decides both QBs will play against Akron

There's also no guarantee that Gebbia gets us another win (or 2) that season. That's all just speculation. Gebbia could have ended up the starter when AM got hurt & doesn't relinquish the job but ends up losing a game or two that AM helped us win. It's silly to play that game and make those claims. One scenario is just as likely as the other.water under the bridge but we go bowling in 2018 if Frost waits 7 more days to name a starter or decides both QBs will play against Akron

All the talk leading up to the first game was it was a dead heat between gebbia and AM …. In the absence of gebbia we had a walk on as a back up who led his team to a home loss against Troy the week after the Colorado game. I’m quite confident in saying we hold on to beat Colorado and then Troy with Gebbia as opposed to whatever the hell the other guys name wasThere's also no guarantee that Gebbia gets us another win (or 2) that season. Not so sure about Troy. I'd be more inclined to agree about Colorado but then we had defensive breakdowns that cost us the Colorado game. We outplayed Troy all across the board & lost 24-19. Bunch was 19-27 for 177 yards with 2 TDs & 2 Ints. We had some more defense breakdowns and they returned a punt for a TD. The Int's hurt but we also lost a fumble. I would definitely have liked to have seen Gebbia in there vs. Bunch but with the D breakdowns we had & the punt return TD, it may not have made a difference. IF the other QBs hadn't transferred out after spring, we would have had a couple more scholarship QBs that fall. All the talk leading up to the first game was it was a dead heat between gebbia and AM …. To a point, some truth. You first said "no guarantee" and later it is a "scenario". It is hard to not see a way to win one or two more games, after all, we were so close. There's also no guarantee that Gebbia gets us another win (or 2) that season. That's all just speculation. Right? There are no guarantees of wins, but Gebbia would’ve lost another game or 2, sort of a guarantee that he would’ve lost more games. To a point, some truth. Ha, if I had to bet I would have said there is no way we could have been worse and taken the odds on another win or two. Looking back, it is hard to remember all the ways this team has found to lose games under Frost.Right? There are no guarantees of wins, but Gebbia would’ve lost another game or 2, sort of a guarantee that he would’ve lost more games.
There was also some ridiculously idiotic clock management in the 4th quarter when NU had the lead. Even the national broadcasters, who usually bend over backwards not to criticize coaches, went on at length about it.Do people forget that NU had CU beat in the first game until that dude hit the CU WR like 16 minutes after the ball sailed over his head??
That game was over right there.
