Do any of you you understand football?

IN THE 4TH QUATER IT WAS 450 vs
65 YARDS OF OFFENSE!

The 1990s Dallas Cowboy defense couldn't play 60 entire football minutes and not give up a point against the B1G.

Is that what you are asking our defense to do??????!! IS IT!?
Our defense was on the field 36 minutes a lot of which was garbage time with psu second stringers who gashed them. If you're satisfied with giving up 39 points I think it speaks to how pathetic the program has become

The other issue is that how many TD's did the Defense prevent and they settle for a FG. How man weak a$$ punks did we do to give them piston in our end of the field or near the 50 yard line to start. We lost the field position by a wide margin. The defense can't defend the short field all damn night long......
We also gave up a 95 yard td drive the longest of the year for psu, the d had some positives but they weren't good

I give your D a B-.. good effort.. but PSU was their own worst enemy (obviously the weather affected both teams) Trace was a bit off.. onthe "baseball" play the pass got caught in the strong winds. Even if PSU scores 49 (which they should have) your front played tough. By the 2nd half they were gassed.. turns out PSU didn't even play McGovern.. thus we only had 2 starters playing... our Center and our LG who as moved to LT. If you would have played the Iowa OL you would had a much tougher time.-sg

For the past few weeks I'm convinced that our team is shot, demoralized, beaten, mentally broken, etc.

I don't know how Ash and the coaching staff can get this group to stay positive and perform next week vs Maryland. Ash has a very tall order to keep a good recruiting class intact after this season. That is the standard that I would judge him by if I am AD Hobbs.

If he can do that then we have a very special HC at RU.

But by any objective standards, this season is an epic failure for RU fans.

My gut tells me that we get hammered next Saturday at Maryland. My expectation is that our team has mentally checked out on the 2016 season.

I believe that Ash has to turn over the entire roster before he sees success at RU. This will take 3-4 years

It seemed to be a "bend, don't break" philosophy on the defense. Contain once you get inside the 20. At halftime, even though we were clearly outplayed, it was only 9-0, since we held PSU to 3 field goals.

That success was on the defense. But they were on the field too long and asked to do too much. We had about 5 or 6 first downs all night. When the defense got tired, and the weather got worse, PSU scored.

Maryland is absolute dogsh##t.. the worst of the worst.. if they gave up football for 3 years the conf would be better off. It won't take a miracle to beat them, you simply have to show some effort and somehow score 14 points. I'll be rooting like hell for you guys, their coach Durkin looks like Benjamin Buttons (the 3 year old version). Hamilton alone could wreck that team. (BTW, love Hamilton's game, hope he plays at the next level).-sg

A few things from this thread:

- I listened to the last 25-minutes on radio. In no way, shape, or form, did Ray, Eric, OR Chris, sounds as if they were saying "Drew should be fired" or anything remotely close to it.

- Martin had his 1st 100% healthy week of practice (for those saying he's not injured...) this past week and wasn't ready for a full load. Also, Goodwin keeps earning it in practice, and hasn't exactly done poorly in games considering the lousy OL in front of him.

- Gio is battling not 1, but 2 injuries, with the hammy and now a knee (against MSU)

One more thing:

I thought Ray was going to go down to the field and punch Franklin by the end of the game. He and Carlin called them/him out 3 times in the last few minutes:

- the showboating following TD's in the 4th quarter by PSU players
- the dancing on the field by PSU kick units (I don't have an issue with that, to be honest...)
- the called/designed QB "sneak" on a 3rd and long, up 39-0 with the clock running down, instead of taking knee

...Ray must have not slept well Sat night.

No they didn't say 'drew should be fired'. They hinted at it. Read between the lines.
My god man this same crew said flood should outright stay in 2013.
Any hint of negativity from this radio crew and you can figure out what they mean.

I agree. The point is that the radio staff basically called for mehringer's job . You never see that . Coming from carlin that says a lot
No, they did not. They praised the defense. You called for Drew's job. 2+2 does not equal farm truck.
