I think the key is the receivers and TE's can play either inside or outside. Not sure if he said that much. I think thats his way of saying "we will circle back to that"
I have never liked the body language from him in these press conferences (arms crossed, defensive looking), so I don't think he is too comfortable in front of the camera.
He might be an okay guy outside that environment, but to be honest, I would be surprised if he is here for more than 3 years.

Agree. He really hasn't got a full chance to put his stamp on this offense. After this year we should have a good idea. I do think they continue to tweak things so I am willing to give them a chance. I like his recruiting. His first group of WR are versatile players that can playing inside or out, block or catch. I think incorporating Toure at the R spot and shifting some TE's there at times lends itself to more north/south plays which I am all for.
Gossiping about Lubick lke a bunch of yentas. Don't like his body language . Hopefully Frost’s offensive genius can rub off on him. So he worked at a bank for a year. Anybody take a look at his bio page? Has worked with Erickson, Orgeron, Cutcliffe, and with Frost and Kelly at Oregon. In his two years at UDub, the Huskies were in the top 25 nationally in first downs, completion percentage and third down conversions.
I don't care what he did with other coaches in the past.. but we sure looked pretty bad offensively last year. Seems odd he had to work at a bank if he was such a great coordinator.. really the last thing I'm interested in is his bio page.. but you're right.. this is just a bunch of gossip.. the real problem is the head coach is way in over his head and tanking the program faster than ever before seen, and yet people want to cling to 'bios' to find something to feel good about.
I don't know Lubick and refuse to pick at any perceived personality quirks. He's a veteran OC and WR coach with P5 chops who didn't get much of a chance to work with the players outside of the active season. In fact, he's an award winning coach at the assistant level. As far as his year out of coaching, he probably had the dough to sit on his ***. So he worked at a bank. Big deal.

exactly 2 years. one, at Oregon in 2016, led to the head coach being fired. two, in 2020, at NU, a season in which our offense was a heaping pile of puke

2017&2018 - Univ of Washington’s co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2017 and 2018. The Huskies won 10 games in each of Lubick’s two seasons, with appearances in the Rose and Fiesta Bowls. Washington also won the Pac-12 Championship in 2018.
2016 - In Lubick’s lone season as offensive coordinator in 2016, Oregon set school records for passing yards (4,687), completions (326) and first downs passing (198). Oregon ranked 13th nationally in completion percentage and 15th in total offense despite having a true freshman starter at quarterback and four freshmen starters on the offensive line. The Ducks ranked in the top 25 nationally in passing twice in Lubick’s four seasons on staff. From 2013 to 2015, Oregon ranked in the top five nationally in both scoring and total offense every year.
He was also the passing game coordinator when Frost was OC at Oregon.
Is he a grizzled veteran at coordinating? No, but he's far from a newbie.
I don't think he is a "coach", I think he is an analytics guy, they are becoming popular (especially in CBB) and they are usually about as antisocial as possible.

Frost mentioned something at the press conference last week that once covid hit, Lubick left town and the coaches didn’t see him for a while.
Then Verduzco said a little comment today... it’s nice for our QB’s to actually be around Lubick. And the tone in his voice sounded a bit annoyed. I didn’t the sense he was talking about covid either.
And then we hear Lubick had his name in the hat for the Montana job in the off-season.
I just wonder if he didn’t keep one foot out the door...

wouldn't surprise me one bit. the only thing consistent with this staff since day 1 has been dysfunction.

While I don't think I'm as down on this staff as you are I've had the feeling from the beginning that the zoo is being run like a fraternity and not a Fortune 500 company. The dysfunction is glaring even to the layman. Great companies have a solid plan and take all the required steps to execute it including personnel. Now we are reading between the lines that the system the BIG was going to have to change to defend against is an admitted failure, so it is being changed to more of a power game. That's OK, great companies change to what works, but they don't take 4 years to figure it out.
I also took note of Frost's comment about Lubick not being around. Not so much that Frost lost track of one of his two key guys, which is inexcusable, but that he and then Verduzco decided to air dirty laundry in the press.
