Just took a peek at SEC baseball scores and LSU is leading 6-0 in top of the third. I think the sharts have decided to just go ahead and be done with their annual baseball implosion.

Om fanbase simply doesn't have the interest in baseball that the State fanbase does. They enjoy the sun at the ballpark for a tan and to augment their peroxide hair, but the game is a passing fancy. They probably won't fire Bianco as long as their season is decent by their estimation.

Why did Maneri get ejected?

He went out for a mound visit and when the ump came to break it up, he let the ump know that they should be hitting with a four run lead, instead of dealing with a tie game thanks to him. Ump warned him, but Manieri being Manieri, he kept going and got ejected.

I'm no Manieri fan but you have to get ejected there. That was a big missed call and sometimes you have to make a statement.

Un 17n believable. 10-9 sharts final. And I believe they got all 8 runs in the bottom of the 8th with 2 outs.

Both teams feel terrible after this weekend. That's the way it should be when Ole Miss and LSU meet.

That was a ridiculous call on that pitch

A batter stands there with 2 on base and a 3-2 count and lets a pitch like that go by with his bat on his shoulders, you have to ring him up if it’s anywhere close.

Our batters too? At home? In front of a hostile crowd? You think the ump should make the call IF it is “close”?

Didn't watch it but I know when I was coaching baseball at noon years ago nothing made me angrier than not calling a strike strike when it a 2 strike count. The pitcher usually gets the next pitch hit the ball out of the ballpark for a some kind of big hit.

I agree with you. It was probably technically a ball, and was a good frame by the catcher. BUT that was called a strike weekend and if the situation was reversed I’d have lost it. No denying it. I’ll give our guys credit for not mailing it in and find a way to salvage a game that could ultimately be extremely important, but Manieri was right.
