When it reached halftime at 86-42, did you stay up and watched the whole game or did you go to bed?

I don't remember that one, but there was a similar game in 1994 and I stayed up and watched it with my infant son, who just turned 24, and attended LSU, by the way. Not sure if there's a connection there

The game you're thinking of is probably the final regular season game of 95, when UK beat LSU 127-80.

Interesting historical note. UK came back from 31 down against LSU in 94, outscoring LSU 62-27 to close that game. The next 3 meetings between UK and LSU (and last 3 between Pitno and Dale Brown) went 127-80, 129-97, and 84-48.

I watched it all but knew that we would call the dogs off midway through the second half, so most of the excitement was gone. I understand that too, least we look like an insecure prick like Kansas did running up the score against a depleted roster. We’ve won enough titles to not have to do that.

I watched every minute because I wanted to see UK give Dale Brown a massive beatdown in his own backyard. This guy did nothing but provoke UK during his entire tenure and he had it coming to him. A 100 point victory would not have been enough.

That's the best kind of game. Why go to bed? It wasn't that late anyway.

Watched the whole game. I never leave any game early, regardless of score or if I am watching on TV or at the game in person. I don't care about traffic. I believe it to be a crime against your fandom to leave any game early. Maybe if there is a family emergency.

I was 16yrs old and working at Mcdonalds at the time.. If I was working when UK played I'd always take my break about tip off time and stay in the break room watching until someone came and got me.. That game almost got me fired cause I stayed until the final buzzer and told my boss to F off more times than I can remember... Nothing was going to pull me away from that game

I was 12 going on 13 that year. That’s was a hard game to watch in the first half. But that second half, my oh my. One of my truly first lasting memories as a UK fan.

I can count on on hand games I’ve had to walk away from for a bit due to nerves. (UNCheat EE Game ‘17, Whisky FF game). But I will always watch or listen to the end.

That second half was amazing. And I’m glad I was able to say I watched every minute of it.

I was on the road but checked ahead to be sure the motel could get the game. Got there …..checked in and their
cable was out. By the time I got through that and found a sports bar it was late in the first half...…
Damn...…….I thought I had screwed up the time some how and thought the game was almost over.
Did watch to the end tho.

As dominant a half of basketball as I have seen. The only thing that has been it's equal was the UCLA game that UK led 41-7 end of 1st half. Both were incredible.

We made UCLA look bad. Shows how a dominate defense or offense can overwhelm different ways.

**** I had plenty of nerves every game 2014, the ND game in 2015, Ohio st in 2011, EE 2017, and on an on!!

We scored 86 in one first half and allowed just seven in another. I doubt any other school can say that. Not even Loyola Marymount.

I had a trial that day. Got to my car and turned on the radio. It was like 82-40 and I thought damn, the game started earlier than I thought and thought it was almost over. Then it was mentioned it was in the first half and I thought my mind was playing tricks on me because I was so tired after the trial. I went home and watched the second half.

Watched all of these beat downs and the comeback. Dale Brown spent the 70s and 80s calling out the beast when he taunted UK. By the time the 90s UK teams were done with him, LSU was no longer a national power.

I will admit I turned it off when we were down 40+ because I thought the game was over, but was really shocked when I found out the Cats made a great comeback and won the game.

Which game was it that Pitinos and Brown almost came to blows? I remember right after that tee shirts coming out that had Dale "the tiger" Brown vs. Rick "Wildcat" Pitino

84 42 was half time score, or something like that. It wasnt the final score.

Huh?

Read what I wrote again. 86-42 was the halftime score in 96. In 97, the final score of the only game UK played against LSU that year was 84-48.

From the point UK was down 31 to LSU in 94 through the next 3 times the teams played, UK outscored LSU 402-252.
