Oh please. You think 2-8 doesn't speak for itself? 185-0 doesn't speak for itself? Yeah, they need people here to tell them not to come to Rutgers. Right. Keep convincing yourself of that.
I'm not one of those people you are talking about, as I never address recruiting -- ever. Even so, how do you expect a recruit to look at this season? If the school is right for him, and the coach is right for him, he'll still come, and nothing anyone here says will change that.
You've completely missed the point. And you are making unhelpful and unprovable assumptions. You don't know for sure what will cause a recruit to honor or renege on his commitment to RU and neither do I. Each player is different. Each situation is different.
So let me ask you. Does people shitting all over the coaching staff help with that cause? Does people shitting all over the coaching staff help
anything?
You're assuming that a recruit or a recruit's influential family member reading this thread right now will not be in any way affected by the toxic negativity displayed by some of our fans. But you can't know that. So my point is, why take the chance? Why do something that has no possibility of positive impact but does risk, no matter how slightly, turning off a prospective player?
The staff didn't sell recruits on coming to RU based on us having a good season this year. The record might speak for itself, but the record this season isn't indicative of what is to come as the program is revitalized by the current, excellent coaching staff. It doesn't speak to what heights this staff can take the team, or how quickly, if we get some great recruits like those who might be reading this right now.
Clueless fans that bash the coaching staff are doing nothing but undermining the coaching staff's message to recruits. Clueless fans that somehow think being "right" on an internet forum is somehow more important than being part of the marketing of the team to prospective recruits need to wake the hell up and get with the program.
