What a dumbass, he blocked the game winning shot up 1 and dominated the second half
He came from off the ball to block the shot. His man scored 22 pts and 14 rebounds and I believe 6 of those were offensive rebounds. If he hold his man to 12 pts we win by double digits. The Temple center, then the Miami center and now the Ohio St center. Keep making excuses.

This thread is just a bunch of people complaining about decisions that if we did the alternative, they would complain that we didnt do what we just did.

So you don’t believe in getting the ball to your best shooter in a situation when you know they’re going to foul? Come on. We ran the play for Cam and he was open. If Pike wanted Caleb as option 1 we would’ve run the play for him.

No - Caleb didn’t have his best game but he’s still probably the better ball handler and a veteran super senior. He was 9 for 9 from charity on the season at the time he was fouled. Made the first and so now he’s 10 of 11. He missed a shot on the road under pressure. It sucks. It’s not Pike’s fault for not avoiding inbounding the ball to a guy who was shooting 100% from FT line though. Geez.

I don't blame anyone but with 7.7 seconds left after Paul made 2 foul shots Mag fouled with 7.0 seconds left instead of letting the guy dribble and take more time off the clock. It was way too early. After their guy hit two foul shots we inbounded to McConnell when I had hoped they would get the ball to Spencer who was 19-20 on foul shots and was almost automatic at Loyola last year. That cut the clock to 5.8 seconds I believe. When Caleb only made one we were up two and even on the radio they said that the guy passing the ball when falling down definitely stepped out of bounds. I feel heartbroken for our guys who trailed by 11 only to lose the way they did. We don't seem to get a break when we go on the road. Hopefully we will win on Sunday and get back on track.

Caleb or Cam, both are great FT shooters. They hit a miracle shot that should not have counted because the shooter did not reestablish position in bounds before receiving the pass. Poop happens.

OP makes same thread if Pike chooses not to foul.

We played very well on the road and lost on a very low percentage shot with less than half a second on the clock, after Caleb missed a free throw.

Get over it.

*EDIT*

….lost on a very low percentage shot with less than half a second on the clock, after Caleb missed a free throw.

THEN the clock operator started the clock a half second late, the ball handler stepped out of bounds, then passed it to another player who was out of bounds and did not re-establish himself before making the game winner with less than half a second left on the clock.

Shot should not have counted because take your pick 1) clock should have been zero, 2) ball handler stepped out of bounds or 3) shot maker came back in bounds without re-establishing.

OP - still want to blame this one on Pike?

Absolutely still disagree with the strategy. Left the door open for a fluke play and it happened. Play D and worst case is OT. If you’re gonna foul at least play it out for a few more secs and don’t rush the foul

It’s like taking a knee on the 1 yard line in football v taking the TD. Don’t extend the game.

For the millionth time reestablishing is irrelevant. You can't be the first to touch the ball if you go out of bounds out of your own volition

We won games on a prayer too. Win some loose some.
True, but can’t complain about missing tournament at season end when you give away wins. May be ok if we steal wins later in year, but those are not givens.

We are good on D and suck at FTs. No way do you give a foul with 7.7 secs up 3.
Then the first 39:55 are all o PIke too.

Don't agree that the loss is on Pike.

We showed that the RU Screw is alive and well.

But wait....listen to OSU's Holden the non legal 3 point shot maker:

I was in,” he said. “No changing it now. Hopefully they don’t go back and change it.”

Note to B1G: DO IT!
