Loss Of Hope

When Frost was hired our Hope in the program was restored. Even after 6 straight losses it was still there. After year 2 it was dinged a little. After the Covid year Frost had a lot to prove and be basically lost a lot of faith after the Illinois loss in year 4. And the question went from “is frost the right guy?” To “does frost deserve another year?”
This decision has me feeling like Husker nation is so divided anymore. I worry the program that labeled itself with “a commitment to excellence” is now committed to the almighty dollar.

Blows my mind that anyone supports keeping this 36% winning percentage clown show around for another year. Only because he's "the native son" is he allowed to still be here. No other coach was given this much leeway with so little to show for it.

Not even committed to the dollar , but committed to losing.

Nebraska will easily take a > $31,500,000 financial hit next year with half empty stadium.

+ Add in lower Booster donations and permanent brand damage(University encouraged fan apathy), could easily cost us way way more in present value terms.

The $20 million buyout could have been payed off over time not all at once, if not in the contract, then financial engineering structure could do it.

The stadium is still full on game day.
Winning isn’t really that important

why would any business invest in improving an inferior product when people continue to fork out for the crappy widget you continue to produce.

The Cubs did that for about 100 years.

And here we are.
The Cubs sell Beer, and lots of it! There are also parties going on all around the stadium. It's like Madri Gras every home game. Fans don't even come for baseball but for the extra curricular activities.

Nebraska sells no Beer and the atmosphere is totally different.

So...... Like I said.

Except for the beer that's pretty much where we are at.

Get drilled by every conference opponent at home, but, hey, stadium's full.

No changes needed. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Frost needs to prove he can win. Until then, as a coach he’s a loser. My only backing for him will be “backing a moving truck to his 3 car garage. Trev still has my backing. But if he cant turn this around in four years. I’ll be volunteering to back a truck for him too.
